Wow. 360 numbers are abysmal. I dont think I've ever seen it that low. And Vita sales are nose diving as well.

I played the original Love Plus on DS and can see why it does as well as it does, its actually more than just a dating sim but also a kind of visual novel as well. With this new one I believe it has facial and voice recognition so when someone else plays it they know its not you. So Konami have actually put some effort into these games.

It needs more appealing titles for the market not a price drop, more people will spend the money if they feel it's worth it in the long run. Hopefully the Vita will follow the path of the 3DS!

Exactly...I remember the 3DS not doing so hot at first either. Games will sell the device. It needs games desperately. PSP still has games so that is why it is still selling. Could the price be cheaper..sure...is Sony making a profit off the console..yes..and they see no reason to drop the price yet. Sure a price drop is nice but it still won't sell much better...because it still won't have games yet. 500,000 still isn't too bad with no games. That is what Sony thinks...if you can sell a 500,000 at launch with the price they had would you not do it??? Dropping $50 and they would have lost $25 million dollars.....any questions?? No doubt it will see a price drop but another 500,000 in NA and EU first at least.
I believe recent polls stated that 1/3 EU PS3 gamers wanted a Vita...so they have a market no doubt...couple that with this crossplatforming between ps3 and vita and I am sure they will be in no hurry to drop the price until they see how this works out....its only just launched.

If Mario Kart 35 and Mario Land 1005 are helping the 3DS then Sony could take some notes about what people are looking to play on their handhelds. It's not a case of the Japanese not liking the Vita but a case of there not being any software to really kickstart any momentum for the device. Even when the 3DS was struggling there were points here and there of games coming that helped the 3DS along including a port of one of the best chapters in the Zelda series and a fleshed out version of Resident Evil's Mercenaries minigame. What's doing good for the 3DS now is having a consistent stream of recognizable series mixed in with newer software where the momentum is kept going. Heck, I'm not even sure what else hits the 3DS next month but I know Kingdom Hearts is going to be another biggie to help maintain that momentum or elevate sales even higher from their current average.
The problem with Vita is that it doesn't have that kind of consistency... at least not yet and very little known future software has the potential to change that. People rested on the idea that Ragnarok and Gravity Daze might do something but the effect was of little to no benefit. Vita needs a big game or a popular recognizable franchise to really kick start interest. Price alone isn't the problem and we saw that with the 3DS last year as cutting the price brought about a jump, but it was the release of compelling software that did the brunt of the work. After all, a cheaper system with nothing of interest to play isn't going to turn as many heads in the long run.
