What games (if any) have led you to appreciate a new medium....of sorts?

For example. When I played Rallisport Challenge 2 on the xbox I realized I liked off road racing. Sometimes when I either remember or have time I watch the sport on the HD channel.

playing Mario really got me into mushrooms....



nah but playing Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX on the playstation really got me into that sport and I would always watch it on tv. I was never good at bmx-ing though (or skateboarding for that matter) so i settled for roller blading.

playing the first Amped demo on xbox from some disc that had heaps of other demos like Halo combat evolved and prince of persia made me like snowboarding haha

The first few tony hawk games got me into skateboarding. I tried only one week, then stopped. I find snowboarding much easier.
Colin McRae Rally series got me into Rally racing. I wish I could do it in real life, but I watch it on TV instead.

Playing Zone of the Enders made me realize I liked fighting oppressive regimes on distant planets with my ginormous robotic warmachine destroyed all in my path.

Playing MLB the Show got me into MLB more. I watched it casually before but I got to know the players and even have a favorite team. I didn't give a shit about learning much about it before.
