Why are so many people excited by them remaking the game? They were good but it isn't like they are going to redo the multiplayer and let you get online. I know PS2 remakes have been popular but I just don't understand why people make so much a deal about this one in particular.

Man I remember wasting time playing these games. I never played through the single player long enough to beat the game because I went straight online. I had a phat ps2 and had the network adapter that screwed into the back. I remember the first time logging onto the Socom 1 servers. That was hardcore, one hit from most anything was almost always a kill. By far I enjoyed 2 the most though I did like the vehicles if you had a team that knew how to use them. I was an extreme socrack addict. However, Confrontation gave me a bad trip and I haven't bought socom 4 because of that trip. I would love to see the old games remade in high def and going online with them again. Here's to hoping!

You're right, these remakes aren't really necessary. The developers at Zipper Interactive simply need to create a game that plays more like SOCOM II.

That ^ video I made a while back, but I can see why you'd get them confused, I used pretty much the same assets and edited it in a very similar fashion, hell I even used the same text except embossed this latest one.

Having played them all extensively, I found 4 to be the best by far IMO. I would give S3 prepatch 6 the worst.
