I've been doing a little searching trying to figure out if there will be a vita release for the Jak and Daxter Collection, but kind of confused about what I've found.
Here on psu in january there was a news post about the game and the pictures were said to have come from the vita version of the game, but I haven't heard any news about it whatsoever.
Can anyone confirm/deny that it's coming to vita? I bought it for ps3 but I'd be more than happy to be able to play it with me on the go. I wonder if it'll be a download only title if it does come to vita.

Naughty Dog is not working on anything related to the PS Vita. If any Jak games come to the Vita it will have to be done by another studio. I do not see ND handing out there game for another studio to port.

You need a source when I said "I doubt"? You have a source saying that Sony can hand over games that were developed by Naughty Dog to another studio? Nobody knows what is in the contracts. Sony can lend an IP to another studio, but I doubt they have the right to hand over another studios work for any sort of alterations. Even if Sony owns more than half the Naughty Dog stock...
If I spent years making a game, do you think I would let anyone hand over that hard work to anyone else? I doubt Naughty Dog would.Last edited by Lethal_NFS; 02-28-2012 at 18:10.

In that making of- it seems like ND didn't have much of anything to do with the HD collection

Mass Media were responsibly for porting over the PS2 games to PS3

If that is the case then there is a good chance the collection is headed to the Vita.
After researching, Naughty Dog did assist in the porting of the collection.
The games were originally developed by Naughty Dog, and who have assisted in the remastering alongside Mass Media Inc. to provide support for high-definition monitors, higher frame rates, stereoscopic 3D, and additional features for the PlayStation Network.Last edited by Lethal_NFS; 02-28-2012 at 18:17.

Ya the interviews in the video suggest it was a tough cookie getting it to run on the PS3 in the first place so it doesn't surprise me that ND was on hand to help with the advanced and unorthodox coding they used with the Jak games

I really really hope it comes out for Vita though. Before the OP started this thread I was under the impression that it just was coming out sooner or later, but he's right - the information regarding a Vita version is scarce

If you want Jak & Daxter on Vita, you could check out J&D: Last Frontier. It's not quite up to par with Naughty Dog's games, but it's not horrible shit either. Decent PSP platformer, could look real nice on Vita's screen.
