I'm having this weird problem with photoshop all the sudden. I go to put text in at size 6 but after I type I don't see any text. After fiddling around I figured out to scale the layer down with the transform tool and drag the corner in to scale it down. Then I see the text and it was huge! Taking up most of the image underneath. After scaling down to where I could see the entire word I typed I looked at the pixel size of the text and it said 0.66 pt.
I don't know why it's so off like that. I've never had to scale the text layer down I just change the font size. Anyone have an ideas how to fix this? I don't recall changing any setting lately either, this just happened all the sudden.

One thing to learn about using PS. Its a dick sometimes. Things always seem to fuck up and not work, just cause it wants too.

Point taken kwes. Well maybe it will decide to work right at some point. That's just the most random problem I've ever had.
I don't even put text in stuff I make much but now when I scale it down it looks like shit. It's all edgy and crap.Last edited by podsaurus; 06-01-2012 at 01:26.

It could be a setting you have applied to the text. But thats the only thing I can think of as to be the problem. :/
I'm giving CS6 a test run, and liking it so far./UPSET THE ESTABLISHED ORDER AND EVERYTHING BECOMES CHAOS\

Photoshop CS3 has been known to have those problems. The solution people used was to either restart their computer or delete Photoshop all together and re-install it. Not sure what version you're using, podsaurus but that's all I know.

I created this tutorial dedicated to, The Black Wolf!(Everyone can use it of course!)
First, download this render before beginning this tutorial. No C4d's or Fractals were used.
http://ffnext.com/images/game/ffxiii...4-2009/cid.png
Since this is my official 2nd fail tutorial, I'll give you the summary of the tut.
-Make new Canvas(500x200)
-Open Render image/Paste/Layer/Anchor Down
-Filters/Blur/Gaussian Blur: 7.0 on both
-Layer/New Layer
-Shrink Layer to 420(Width, don't worry about height since it keeps proportions)
-Paste two roughly in the middle
-Change Layer Mode to: Divide
-Layer/New Layer
-Paste two renders again(Same size), this time closer together
-Change layer mode to: Grain Extract
-Layer/New Layer/Paste render(Center)
-Go back between the two layers and smudge it with a vine brush, don't worry about settings, just click and drag that brush in an up and down motion
-Go back to the top layer. Layer/New Layer
-Brush with Spark Brush(Size: 60) somewhere around the render
-Smudge large sparks within the render
-Change Spark's color to whatever you wish
-Layer/New from Visible/Filter/Enhance/Unsharpen Mask
-Layer/New Layer - Finishing touches, add text and borderResult

That's about it!. Hope this helps.Last edited by Fon; 09-16-2012 at 04:26.

I stickied the thread. Might want to add some tutorials to the OP though.

Sweet!. This kind of sigs are quite easy to make and the backgrounds hardly take much effort.
Another simple sig(No giant tut this time ;__; )

Edit: Thanks, Blacksite for the sticky!-Color background to sky blue-ish
-Filters/Light and Shadow/Gradient Flare/Default
-Changed it layer mode to Hard Light(I think)
-Paste re-sized render
-Layer/New Layer
-Brushed with Vine Brush then Colors/Colorize/blue-ish color/Changed it's layer mode to make it white-ish blue
-Layer/New Layer/Same process as above but this time I smudged it a bit
-Layer/New Layer/Same as above but I brushed the center and changed it's color to black(set Lightness to -100), then I smudged it with the same vine brush
-Layer/New Layer/ Brushed it with the Spark brush and changed it's color
-Layer/New Layer/End it with text and border(I didn't do that here though).
Thanks, itachi73378 for the rep!

Anyone here use GIMP? I'm willing to share a few tips I use, some of which Photoshop doesn't even have!
