The woes of UK games retailer Game, and its subsidiary Gamestation, continue. EA has confirmed that anyone who has pre-ordered the Mass Effect 3 N7 Collector's Edition from any outlet other than Amazon, Play.com, Zavvi, and ShopTo.net should re-order through one of those four named retailers.
Several other retailers now have stock of the Collector's Edition.
Though EA's announcement did not call out Game or Gamestation specifically, UK industry news site gamesindustry.biz reported that the stores would not be stocking any new EA games after the release of SSX this week. Gamesindustry.biz also reported that refunds would only be available as store credit, rather than cash.
An internal Game email from Tom Devine, the firm's managing director of Northern European operations, obtained by the site said that the Game group would not be stocking any of EA's March releases, citing not being able to get "the right credit terms" from EA.
Devine then provided the following message for staff to give to those who had pre-ordered Mass Effect 3, explaining that the firm could no longer fulfil those orders: ""If you have placed a deposit for a pre-order or are uncertain that your existing pre-order will be guaranteed, please contact your local retailer." Those who suffered from cancellations will also be offered £5 of Reward points.
Attempts to call Game's stores were met with a recorded message, telling anyone who wants information on their Mass Effect pre-orders to go to the firm's website--which is still offering standard editions for pre-order, as well as the PlayStation 3 edition of the N7 Collector's Edition.
Neither EA nor Game Group had responded to requests for comment at press time.

Oh dear! I have pre-ordered the standard edition from Game, not sure if they're still getting them or does this only affect the N7 editions? I only want to buy it at Game as i have 2 x £30 gift cards that i want to use up.![]()

Leaked GAME memo details EA problems, confirms no March stock
http://www.computerandvideogames.com...o-march-stock/
GAME won't be stocking Mass Effect 3 or any other EA games in March following the release of SSX this Friday.
The news was confirmed in a leaked memo sent to staff today by GAME Group northern Europe MD Tom Devine. It was obtained by IGN and transcribed by Edge. Here's the full text:Dear all,
Last week we held an event for our partners in the industry and explained the challenges we are facing in the short term - and we asked for their support.
We asked them to trade with us using manageable credit terms, and for them to continue to do that whilst we work through the strategic review and refinancing of our business.
We gave the industry commitments - we committed to integrity and openness in our dealings, and working with everyone equally.
We committed to only stocking products on which we could get the right credit terms, regardless of the title or the supplier. We will not stock products if the terms are not right for our business - we will not sacrifice long-term credit requirements for short-term sales opportunities.
As a result of us taking this position - a position that we believe is critical to our long-term health as a business - we have taken the very difficult decision to not stock EA's March releases, including Mass Effect 3.
As a specialist retailer dedicated to games and gaming, it is never easy to make a decision not to stock a title, particularly one with such a strong fanbase. But it is imperative that we treat every supplier evenly, that we stick to our commitments, and that we don't sign up to payment terms that will hamper us further in the future.
It is even more critical that we manage this appropriately with our loyal customers. We know they will be disappointed regarding Mass Effect in particular and in recognition of this, we will be contacting our Mass Effect pre-order customers and as a gesture of goodwill we will be offering them £5 of reward card / elite points.
I know that many of you will have to manage customer and supplier feedback directly, and I would like to thank you in advance for your support and am happy to answer any questions you have directly - just grab me as I walk around.

well isn't that fun!

Let's be honest: You sleep with anything that walks on two legs. Sometimes, you're not even that discriminating

They cancelled my pre-order. The annoying thing is they had the best retailer-dlc for the standard version, which was 'game exclusive'.
lol..

This sucks, I always pre-order with Game as they're brilliant for release day delivery, sometimes it even arrives the day before it's out.

So I shouldn't go in to gamestop and pre-order Mass Effect 3 or SSX?
Guess that's what EA gets when they make online passes. It bites you back.

The only collectors editions I've found are either overpriced (£150 instead of £70) or it's only for the ps3 and not xbox.

Gamestop is not Game.
Game didnt have the dough so wanted credit, EA would not give them credit.
Game is going under in other words.

I've just looked on Gamestop, Amazon, Shopto, Zavvi, Blockbuster and Play for the N7 collectors edition for the xbox and they're all sold out.
I'm seriously fucked off lol I'm a huge Mass Effect fan and I can't get all the exclusive stuff like the 70 page artbook, lithograph, digital soundtrack, N7 weapon pack or the comic book.
