I'm not sure it will break the story from 2 to 3. I think it's just a nice transtion but I don't think it's essential that you play it. I could be wrong though.

I personally, would suggest you play all the DLC. It really will add a lot to the experience. Especially Arrival.

I haven't played Arrival yet myself. But from understanding it is indeed somewhat a bridge of the story from 2 to 3. But ME 3 won't be any different if you haven't played it.
But the others are just some extra missions. They're good this time though, ME 1 dlc was terrible.

Which one? I only played Bringing down the sky(came free with platinum hits edition), and it was decent.
Though I guess Firewalker was somewhat more fun.
Almost everyone will say: buy console that has games that you want, and those who say otherwise are ignorant.

    Playstation Move for the win!

Arrival is very important. As for the rest, not so much.

Overlord and Firewalker are important too. Not in blatant sense like Arrival but in a subtle way. They definitely add a bit to the experience in regards to background information in the universe. Regardless, they were all really fun to play.

I found Bring Down the Sky a bit disappointing... I expected it to be different from the missions you had been playing throughout the game. And the other dlc was just a weird arcade kill mode thing. I didn't bother getting that...

No it won't. Having said that, there may be a few ME2 DLC characters playing a role in ME3. So, for that, and for the awesome experience, I suggest you play through most, if not all, of the DLC.
You see, madness, as you know, is like gravity. All it takes is a little push!
