Hawkeye isn't an original member either but they don't have Ant-man or The Wasp.

Both Hawkeye and Black Widow joined later. I think Widow is there to keep them from killing each other. She seems to be the grounded character that keeps things in perspective with all these superheroes with enormous egos.

Btw, Scarlett can act... unlike most of the action babes. Sure she's eye candy but not solely.

Hawkeye was pretty fuckin close to being one of the first. He was in there just a few years after the avengers were created.

But, I'm not too concerned about her being in there except that 4-5 dudes...one smokin hot babe...=4-5 dudes fighting for the one hot babe. :/

Actually I don't see the others fighting for her. Captain doesn't go after women, Thor has Portman (well, ya know her character), Hulk has that one woman scientist, Stark obviously shown attraction but he really has Potts. Hawkeye is the only I can't account for since I don't know him well... they seem to fit together in my mind, but again I don't know much at all about him.

I think this film is going to be awesome, when I first heard about it I thought it was going to be shit but all this has definitely changed my mind!

Dark Knight Rises will be my favourite film of the year no doubt, but this is gonna be pretty close.

B rated? Ok, I'll give you Black Widow whose glorified special ops, Captain America with his self-righteousness and that suit, Hulk being it's Mark Ruffalo, and even Thor with his barbaric viking habits at times. Although Mjolnir is would make you think twice about saying that to his face.

The one that is NOT B-rated... is Stark. Rich, smart, charismatic, gets women, and has some of the coolest toys including a high-tech suit of armor that can fly and take-out tanks with ease. Oh and he drives an Audi R8 to breakfast.

Batman is cool and all, but he isn't the only rich guy with cool toys.

I'd say the Hulk is 'A-rated'. Only problem is he's been played by three different actors in three different movies. In addition, the first movie has a poor reputation and the second movie was solid, but nothing more.

No, I made a simple statement when Funeralfrog said the Thor, Captain America, and Hulk movies were only because of Iron Man.

Since The Incredible Hulk released the same year as Iron Man, that clearly isn't the case. Marvel's and Paramount's interest in comic-book movies shot through the roof with Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy breaking box office records. All of sudden they realized these Marvel comics can be a gold mine after all, especially after the disappointing Hulk with Bana.

That went into full speed once The Avengers movie was planned. Hence the after credits tie-ins.
