Note that all Mac's and iPod's have always been named like the new iPad. They get the generation number but it is not part of the marketing of the product.

I understood.

Apple seems to add things that I don't expect like Siri (to the iPhone) and Airplay, that I don't realize that I "need", so I am sure they will come up with something.

On another subject, I think Apple should just stop naming their products to really push minimalism to its limits.
