Yeah but you would have to change it back to be useable, which u wouldn't, you delete and assume it's a fake file, I ain't saying he is guilty, just saying you should know what you are downloading, by file types, size etc
Then again we don't know the details, there could have been 100's of pics which made it a zip file a size of a music album, but still files,torrents,downloads are usually verified by other users as to what they are, it's just he must of been dumb

reporting suspected paedophillia activity is one thing, owning up to having it is something else, even if it came into someones posession by accident. anyone that is found to be in posession of such material SHOULD be investigated, they SHOULD be viewed as being guilty until proven innocent, again, that's something we'll just have to agree to disagree on.

if it was a family member of mine that was victim of child pornography, then sure, I would want the people responsible to be caught (just like I do in this case), but I'd also want ANYONE that was in posession of it to be fully investigated and not be deemed to be above suspicion just because he/she claims to have received it in all innocence.

I don't have any problems with people being suspected, or investigated. I do however have a problem labeling someone as guilty without them having been tried in a court of law by a jury of their peers. PERIOD. I never said anything about not investigating someone, etc.

That's what I was thinking, and guys I been downloading stuff for years, I don't tend to use torrent programs since I worked out how to download direct at hi speed, which I do even from my PS3, but even when I did use clients they'd show me the content of a zip folder, but like mickice said, he could have been a complete noob and didn't know what he was doing, thou he was obviously downloading from a filehost as I don't even know anybody that zip albums these days, people complain about that stuff ya know!

Ok, you are talking about torrents, in this case a zip would not be prefered.

But if he was using a p2p program like frostwire whole albums (or pictures) are stored inside a zip is common, same goes for the majority of stuff dowloaded from the ex-megaupload.

For all we know is he could have done a basic google search found a link with the album.zip and got child porn instead.

Since the file he downloaded was titled as music, I would have just deleted the damn videos and moved on. If the files were actually titled as "child porn", then it may have been too late to forget about it as it probably triggered some sort of online alert. With so much at risk, I simply would have deleted the movies and stopped downloading shit for a while.
