    A Good External HDD?

    Hi guys

    Just wondering what is the best brand for External HDD's ?
    i was thinking WD or Seagate but not That sure

    i mostly need it to use as a backup for my PS3/PC

    Lacie produce some really decent external hard drives, i would recommend them to you.

    Western Digital. I've yet to use a LaCie drive that hasn't failed unexpectedly.

    I have 2 WD caviar green 2tb. I've had them for about a year with no problems. One was DOA but i sent it back and they replaced it free of charge. i would wait a little while if you could to let prices subside from flooding

    Prices went up quite a bit partially due to the tsunami in Japan. Manufacturing was then outsourced to plants in Thailand and production was doubled... but someone brilliant decided to build these plants in a valley shaped like a bowl, then Thailand had a flood wiping out THOSE plants. Western Digital and several other hard drive manufacturers lost millions. Pretty awesome situation.
