Are the red LED lights at the top blinking red? If all four are blinking when you turn it on, and they all stay blinking, then you can do a few things. Try connecting the controller with a USB cable to the PS3 and re-sync it (I forget how you do this, but if you say there are blinking lights I'll find out again if you're unable to do it.)
Edit: Hmm i misread the first time....So some buttons work and others dont...How old is the controller? may it's time to go to the big PS3 in the sky?PSU GHOST SYNDICATE - DUST 514 Media HUB - Podcast - BLOG (Soon™)

Have you dropped it a lot or something? Even if you haven't done anything to it, it sounds like you need a new controller.
Awww! Little baby bunny! <3

I would take it apart and give everything a good cleaning before I would go off and buy a new one.
Chances are the buttons are dirty and stuck. Dirt, dust, dead skin n other nasty stuff probably just built up inside/around the buttons edges not allowing the buttons to press and release freely.Last edited by faaeng; 03-13-2012 at 02:50.
PCs are very much like Air Conditioners.
They both become utterly useless once you start to open up Windows....

How different are the housings for the DS compared to the 6Axis? I haven't taken apart a DS yet. Well I have. I put them into 360 shells tho not back together, but hadn't had any issues taken apart 6A controllers and putting them back. Never paid much attention to the differences.
Tho most 6A controllers dun get put back together either tho. They get turned into wireless arcade sticks. lmao
damn it... now im curious.......Last edited by faaeng; 03-13-2012 at 03:54.

On the back of the Dualshock there is a tiny hole that acts as a 'reset' button. You press it and it brings the controller back to factory settings where it isnt synced to any PS3. stick a pin or paperclip in there, I don't know if it will help your situation, but worth a try

Yep like Vincent said re set the controller with the pin hole, then connect the controller to PS3 with USB cable. This happened to a mate of mines controller.
Let us know how you get on?20...
