He was with Sony for 16 years. I thought there were articles when he left speculating and stating he was upset that Sony wouldn't listen to him on how important casual gaming was etc. then the wii came a long and killed it and sales and Phil was extremely annoyed after that. I'm sure I remember stuff like that. Plus they made him stand on stage and do all that stupid stuff with the psp. I think he was just fed up. Gotta admit that the e3 shambles etc was probably one of the worsed melt Downs in gaming history. Props to Sony for turning it around to a major extent tho. I rate Phil. He should do a great job. He must have some serious contacts if he was at Sony for 16 years. Could make some major stuff happen

I said this back in 2011, in my " i told you so " thread on the gaming industry and i was right, that some big wags would move around the three top companies

A quote from my very thread back in 2011
AND THE OUTCOME IS THIS4. game companies new and old and their changes of positions and who goes bankrupt and who makes profit and who defects from one game company to another. Also changes in the big three Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft.
Link http://www.psu.com/forums/showthread...-you-so-threadthe big three, will exchange top key positions within their companies that will either be welcomed or outrage gamers and the industry
So you see i said this would happen back in 2011, that change will come in the top companies and positions would change from one campany to another

Thanks to Spyrde/Sylar

Indeed. With Peter gone, that vacancy needed filling.

I guess everyone has their own taste, but casual gaming isn't my cup of tea. As for company doing better, I couldnt give a ****. Wii has dominated this gen, and they haven't offer much to core gamers like me. MS is welcome to pursue the path Wii took, but I will not be a part of it.
Yea. MS must be really gearing hard and long term for casual gaming to get a head who loves casual stuff.

Maybe cause it can't? or very small reason to? You can invest small amount of capitol and have good return on investment. That is why casual gaming market is flooded. Cheap low quality games make good money. ROI is amazing. You see that is the path MS is currently taking.
I think Dasimpse explained to us that Phil left because Sony ignored Phil's wish to move towards casual. Not because he thought that company was on the rise or other way around. No doubt MS loves his view on casual gaming and swooped him up as Molyneux was leaving. He is great person to over see tons of kinect studios MS has just recently opened up. This is another nail in the coffin. MS has set sails to casual gaming market and they are not looking back. That's true but why would you move if the company is on the rise?
