The Ratchet & Clank Collection Going 1080p on PS3, Multiplayer Included

Insomniac CEO Ted Price posted the details over at PS Blog:

It’s amazing that it’s been almost 10 years since the release of the original Ratchet & Clank on PlayStation 2. A lot has changed since 2002, but your loyalty to our furry Lombax and his faithful robot companion has endured. As we reach the 10th Anniversary of Ratchet & Clank, we wanted to commemorate the achievements of the Ratchet & Clank saga.

Today, we’re delighted to announce the Ratchet & Clank 10th Anniversary Celebration, which also simultaneously addresses the biggest current request from our fans: The Ratchet & Clank Collection. This will contain Ratchet & Clank, Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando, and Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal – all remastered by Idol Minds, working closely with our team at Insomniac Games. In addition to a full 1080p HD remaster (720p stereoscopic 3D support) of all three games and the inclusion of three Platinum Trophies, we’re happy to confirm that the online competitive multiplayer from Up Your Arsenal will be included. Now you can check out the acclaimed multiplayer mode that many of you didn’t get to experience the first time on PS2.

The collection will release this fall in North America. I know it’s a little bit later than the Spring European release, but it’s because we have something very special planned for our North American fans to celebrate the 10th anniversary, and we’ll share all the details very soon.

We’re so excited that PlayStation has worked to give our original Ratchet & Clank PS2 adventures the HD remaster treatment they deserve. Stay tuned in the coming months for more on the Ratchet & Clank 10th Anniversary Celebration, as well as more details, screenshots and footage as we near the release of the Ratchet & Clank Collection.

Wow, Spring release! 1080p too (wonder if its just 30FPS though since most other HD Classics are 720p/60FPS).

I have all 3 PS2 games so I don't need to buy this. However, newcomers will not be disappointed in the slightest. These games are gems. Especially Going Commando.

It would of been kool if they had a similar approach to the collection as the MGS HD collection where as a bonus you could play the first two Metal Gear games. With that idea they could of included Deadlocked (I know it as Gladiator) which was a decent game imo.

Or they could've included the PSP games Size Matters and Secret Agent Clank, but it would be awesome if they were released for the Vita

Same here. I love all Ratchet and Clank games. Even without Deadlocked, I'll most likely buy it for old times sake.

I expected it not to have Deadlock since J&D didn't come with X. They might do a Volume II Collection though and have these 4th games on there along with the PSP games:

J&D CV2: Jak X, Daxter, The Lost Frontier
R&C CV2: DeadLocked, Size Matters, Secret Agent Clank
