If the service doesn't matter why would they make it in the first place?
as you said Sony are slow, also they don't give it much attention in other words "they do not care"
all they release are either clothes and more clothes or just a new appartment every now and then/new space
people been giving them tons of ideas on the official website and most of them are great but
Sony doesn't care sadly
we all know how MS are with everyone Casual and Hardcore players so a service like this could change
to the better in MS's hands
if you can't see it, i can.Last edited by The Cage; 03-23-2012 at 12:16.

I got tired of home real quick and eventually deleted it. Although admittedly I did enjoy bowling with some people from this forum. lol

I used to go into Home all the time to play a mini game in the Assassins Creed 2 space. It is in the same spirit as the den defense mini game that ended up in in Revelations.

hindsight?
they made it, realised it wasn't as groundbreaking as expected, then supported it enough to keep people happy, but didn't take it forward any significant amount. they've realised it wasn't that important in the overall scheme of things - and i'm sure MS can see that too. its made almost no impact at all.
so i don't think MS will follow that tact, and if they did i certainly don't think it would be 'massive'.Got YLOD? In the UK? I'll buy it off you.

If you're talking about Live then I partially agree with you. Yes, in the end, services weren't a huge deal, I mean the Wii sold the most amount without virtually anything...but at the same time, what made the 360 what it was, were Live services. Sony did good with the games but they also lost a lot of sales due to having basic services.
Services do matter to a good extent...games are obviously more important but I think Sony would've tried better, had they planned it out from the beginning, they couldn't do anything about PSN by the time they saw the strength of Live.Praise the lord for Ni No Kuni!

nah, not talking about LIVE, Home. yeah, of course services are important, but home is really a step above and beyond, and its a step i believe Sony has realised is a step too far - hence limited support and development. i'm sure MS has seen that. i mean avatars lend themselves to 'homes', MS has already dipped into 'shared' experiences with those avatars (like watching movies together) but they stopped short of creating a home like experience.
and probably for good reason.Got YLOD? In the UK? I'll buy it off you.

Home was a good idea but it was not executed well. I think MS has done a better job of actually implementing it into your profile. You can watch movies with your friends, you have avatars that you can access without going into a different program...what else do you need? For the time being anyway.

It has to be practical and it has to be useful. But I am very interested in knowing what the next gen will bring for consoles.

yes, i know. you said that shortly before saying "/end of discussion". i didn't think you wanted to talk about it anymore.
if you can see it, fair enough, but i'd be interested to know where that view has come from. they've had the opportunity in the past, they've seen the lukewarm response Home has got, and they seem to have move to a more 'professional' look in the new dash. i don't see any indication that they are gearing up for a Home-like environment, or that gamers even want it. i think they're more focused on kinect at present.Got YLOD? He never once said "you can't..." All I remember him saying is, "i can't really see how MS could translate it into something successful to be honest".
Yes, of course. But it's likely not going to happen, that's what Jeffe is talking about and I totally agree.what i said is that if the service is in MS's hands .. MS would of take a Better care of it
Now unless they can incorporate it in the dashboard, it's just not going to happen.
Before they spend on a huge project like that (which someone else failed at), they would rather get an IP deal or open up a studio.
It would be a waste, especially at this time, to do something like this for the 360. We might see interesting things for the next console but that's a totally new discussion.
No, we're not going to see anything like Home this E3. You can keep saying that you see it that way but you aren't giving reasons why...(good reasons anyway).Praise the lord for Ni No Kuni!

Nope. Still in beta as far as I remember but I thought you knew something I didn't.
I don't think it will ever leave beta...they might just redo the thing on PS4...but something tells me they will just port it over...which will piss me off.
Nice recovery.
