I'm all for these personal viewers, being a 3D fan. However, I think MS kinda dropped the ball on the viewing size of their display on this patent.

Makes me less interested in all 3 next gen consoles. Kinect, Move, WiiU controller, VR headsets from MS and Sony, connection to handhelds, all shit ideas as someone put it.

Yeah, with Sony and Microsoft trying these new VR headsets/helmets, it is clear that they wanting to expand gaming features and sell more accessories.

Great, I love my Move and Sharpshooter, I LOVE my Vita connectivity with the PS3 and I will love my Sony 3D viewer when I get it. No one forces anyone to buy the accessories, but it is good that they are there for those who want to evolve their gaming ecosystem.

Not always. When more effort gets put into accessories than games, or even the console itself, then gamers will suffer. Just because there are tons of options that doesn't always translate into a better gaming experience. It's all about the almighty dollar.

Fair point, but I haven't seen any hint of this happening so far (other than with certain motion controllers perhaps) but with things like personal viewers and handheld devices I don't see this being the case.

lol pr0n is a sneaky way to label your videos of people bumping uglies so your mom cant do a search on your PC and find your dirty stash lol

I downloaded a 3D pr0n film to see what it was like lol The thought of watching it on Sony's 3D viewer with perfect 3D and huge viewing size is crazy lol. Unfortunately it was kinda soft core (didn't show any uglies lolol) but the depth perception was interesting on my3D TV lol

Yeah, I haven't seen this as an issue with Kinect or Move, so I don't this this would be an issue either.

I was just thinking, you know we keep getting all these technical inovations, yet man has never turned his thoughts towards some way of getting laid more often.

Games are like woman, what you might find attractive I might not, and none of us know if we really like them untill we have played around with them for a while.

They're all the same. They're all gimmicks and they really add nothing to the game itself. In the end none of the motion controllers are really any good. Sure, some are fans of one or the other and all have their benefits and drawbacks, but they are all money grabs.

IMO, take the R&D costs of these accessories and make great games and consoles.

I'm not a portable gamer but if I was I would game on something that was always with me, my phone. The Vita and 3DS are on their way out. Not many people want to carry something that big with them. Although the gaming experience on the portable consoles is superior, phone and tablet gaming are good enough to keep gamers on the go happy until they get back to their console.

I don't really agree with any of this. Move adds a whole lot of immersion to me in FPS games for example. I am WAY more accurate and using the Sharp Shooter is just boss. Nothing beats actually pulling a trigger to fire. I do agree they are money grabs, but so is every game, console and service offered lol. I have just been very lucky as a gamer. I guess my gaming tastes are fall within the demographic that Sony is aiming for with their tech and games. I am really into what they are doing with Move in FPS games in particular. I know that Move for some people is collecting dust, and some haven't even bought it, it doesn#t appeal to them, and that's cool. If Pitchford is putting Move into Borderlands 2 and Aliens, I'ma be in game heaven.

Portable consoles aren't on the way out. They may not be at the forefront but they are not on the way out. I can't stand the thought of controlless portable games. Maybe touch controls are ok for you, but not for me. To me, after playing Vita, anything less than dual sticks is just inferior. of course, if a gamer is happy playing whatever on their pad or smartphone then that's a win in my book, but I prefer core games with good controls.

That's cool. We don't have to agree. Fortunately I'm in a position where I'm not in love with a certain console, game or accessory so I feel that I can look at them objectively and make my decision based on that. But not all of us will agree on this topic.

As for touch controls, I don't care for them either, but as I said in my post, I'm not a portable gamer and don't want to lug anything extra around with me. I can get by with games on my phone for as little time as I put into them. I game when I'm home but when I'm outside the house I usually have better things to do.

I did bring my PS3 with me on my business trip because I'm gone for 2 weeks but a portable console would not have cut it since I wanted it for Blu Ray movies and games.

    Just my. 02.

Nice! I can also look at things objectively and make my own decisions too. Great minds think alike.

Fair enough, by any means necessary, satiate the gaming itch.
