Ah, lucky you! As far as my knowledge goes we don't have any PC hardware shops in the south west. I think I'll order the plait from Scan. £429 all in but it seems like that's what it'll have to be
Edit: any idea what would be a fair starting price for a HD5870 on eBay I may put both of mine on there to fund another purchase

Well I've now found the perfect setup for my GTX680 4GB when I eventually get it when it's released. Behold this for £500:

Well the 4GB has only just been shown on the EVGA site so I'd assume this'll come in a couple months time. The monitor deal is going on till the 7th May so plenty of time still to get it.

I've always found the EVGA cards to be very bland in aesthetics. Asus and Galaxy cards are pretty badass looking

Ah right, not sure i can be bothered to wait that long and find out it would be more than i'd want to pay (> £600). I didn't order mine today and it seems Overclockers got a bit more in stock during the day and i'm now gonna wait for them to get the EVGA one back in stock
I'd buy a card specifically for the reason of it looking like thatLast edited by BoyBettaKnow; 04-04-2012 at 00:05.

Function over form though form should come aesthetically pleasing nonetheless. I wonder if Nvidia is releasing their own line of Gigahertz edition cards like AMD did with the 7950.

Ooph - £540. Only £70 than i was willing to pay buy 540 sounds like such a bigger number lol. Wouldn't mind waiting to see the benchmarks on that because i'm only going to be playing 1920x1080 for a while with it.
edit: Not keen on Palit either really - was doing a bit of research and it seems for RMA's they are a bit of a pain in the ass.

Edit 2: Yeah i think i'm just gonna stick with the 2gb Super Overclocked version for the time being. I don't think i'd be able to sleep at night if i bought the 4gb card for more than you can get 3 monitors for

I do plan on getting 3 monitors not sure if i'll just buy 2 more of the ones i currently use (120Hz, 1920x1080 2ms G2G Asus VG236HE) or just buy the 3 that you posted and use my current one as a back up or a lone one for the desktop. I may just end up going SLI when that happens though.

More and more cards appearing. Gainwards Phantom Series looks quite nice. The longer the card i want stays out of stock the more i keep seeing others i want

If i get the Samsung 27SA750D (120hz) I'll be getting my self one for sure. I'm still on 22" 1680x1050 IPS monitor and there's nothing wrong with it so far.
I need a SC EVGA one that's for sure.

I think I will wait for a price drop on these. I'm not paying more than $400 for any individual card and for my next computer build - which I have planned for when the Crosshair VI and AM4 arrive - I want to have four graphics cards stuffed into my machine. I'm already designing my own custom case.

I'm pretty sure AM4 will be a huge upgrade over AM3+. I don't see it coming out this year but perhaps, maybe sometime in early 2013. Either way, it gives me time to continue designing my custom case. As for why I choose AMD over Intel? It's because I like AMD's physical CPU architecture more and the price to performance ratio surpasses that of Intel. Intel is too expensive for what it offers.
