SOCOM was never any good though, it was just cause it was one of the first online console games that people have their nostalgia goggles on.

I would say that. I loved Socom 1 n 2 and thoroughly enjoyed Confrontation after they fixed alot of issues with it. The game just wasn't for everyone that's all. It was definitely a niche market.

If you liked CounterStrike and/or TPSs you loved Socom. All Socom was was a Third Person Counterstrike. Still no other game like it and it was sad to see the franchise run into the ground the way it was.

With Sony rereleasing the PS2 Classics and somany people begging for it, I'm surprised Sony wont rereleased S1/S2 to guage peoples interests. Its practically guaranteed to sell at least a million copies. People want a hardcore shooter too. Not everyone wants a casual mass marketed shooter. Their is room for both, but it seams noone want to cater to the other side of the fence. They all want a pieces of CODs pie.

PCs are very much like Air Conditioners.
They both become utterly useless once you start to open up Windows....

Christian Allen is an American video game designer. He is most noted for his contributions to the Ghost Recon franchise and Halo: Reach. Allen became Lead Designer on Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon 2 and continued in that role through Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter, becoming Creative Director on Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2.

I was thinking about supporting the kickstarter, then reading what he had to say and what he wants to make... I realized that the man really has no clue what type of game he wants to make aside from "tactical shooter"...

It started off a an unknown perspective tactical shooter for the pc to possibly go console. Now its a PC FPS (boo..) PS3 TPS (yay... i think.. ) and unknown type for the 360.... o_O?

I wish them the best regardless.
/crosses fingers and hopes for the best
