I always frown upon remakes of films that really didn't need one in the first place. I might check this one out though, and the fact that Kate Beckinsale is in it must mean success!

I think we should wait to see the full trailer before jumping on the "Hollywood ruins remakes" bandwagon. There are some good remakes out there like Matt Reeve's Let Me In (although that was based on a Swedish film). And to be fair, the director for this Total Recall remake, Len Wiseman, also directed Live Free or Die Hard which garnered an 82 percent approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes so this could end up being a decent remake.

Plus the Arnie version had some creepy shit. Bug-eyes was never a loving memory.

This era of entertainment is becoming fucking lousy. It is crystal clear that creativity is as dry as a nuns crotch with all these fucking reboots. I'm getting sick of that term and of the whole notion of taking something old that was quite often perfect and trying to re do it. it's lazy ass shit and it's getting old and just reflects the imaginationless spirit of the industry.

Except Total Recall wasn't a perfect movie.

Don't get me wrong; I would like to see more original movies. But I'm not going to bash an entire movie (in this case, a remake) based on a short teaser.

I would watch this over the Arnie flick. Whether I bother to see it in theater though, after Prometheus and TDKR popcorn action is probably not gonna do me much. We'll see, maybe...

hmmm... total recall is one of my favourite movies. even though it was made in the 90s it was still a classic "80s style action sci fi" movie

ill see this because it does look interesting, but i personally feel it won't hold a candle to the original

Factoid: The director did a commentary for the trailer. He said that fight scene just after the chair is all practical, the cameras are moving at 35 mph.
