Right.
I thought the gameplay was fine. Re-read my initial post. The real issue here is how did you find the stealth in it?! how did you find the boss fights ? how did you find the weapon customization ? how did you find the option to approach an enemy in a stealthy or action way? how did you find the microwave tunnel scene? how did you find the final battle against liquid ?
But it doesn't change the fact that the game has flaws.those are the most important things.
We are talking about repetitive dialogue. I don't care if the game has more dialogue than its predecessor. I just don't want the characters to repeat themselves all the time. This is why the game has most of its long, drawn-out cutscenes. And seriously people i can't understand how long cutscenes is a such a bad thing? if the game needs it then so be it.Bioshock infinite will have a scene with more dialogue than the hole Bioshock 1 game. How will you react to that ?!
Again, you can still enjoy Metal Gear Solid 4 and criticize one or two aspects. You can do it for any game.I'm not defending a guy, he is not my father or something.I'm defending the game itself because it's worth it.To me MGS4 is a millions times better than Uncharted, although i enjoyed all 3 of Uncharted.Last edited by Blacksite; 03-29-2012 at 10:11.

I'm 100% with this, but not because it will keep bringing him back, but because i want something new from him,and clearly he wants to move on. ( which he is currently doing) i don't mind though to see MGS 5 in a few years.
I'm not disagreeing with this. All i'm saying is this game ( with it's flaws ) is better than a lot of successful games out there and people who just call it stupid or trash knows nothing about anything. This game still the number 1 stealth game out there with Deus-Ex as runner up.It has some good stealth but the story, characters and boss fights just suck.I wish they improve that in a sequel.Last edited by Abdou23; 03-29-2012 at 09:26.

I agree with what he said about indie developers. That's all.
-

What he said about indie developer is pretty silly. People call themselves indie developer for financial issues, not because it's "cool."
A lot of licensing offer royalty packages that are different depending on the profit of the developer. Indie developer has a cheaper entry with a higher percent, AAA studios can buy full licenses outright.
You can't just stop calling yourself an indie because it actually makes a business difference. He sounds really ignorant with this statement.

MGS3>>> everything else
anyways, Kojima did go a little over board with MGS4 in terms of cut scenes and repetitive dialogue, but i still enjoyed it so whatever.

I think he just said this to get aome publicity. Trolling the new way to get your name out.

For all of those who said he shouldn't criticize MGS because he has only made one game, consider this: he's made a game. And ported a few. You've done neither.
So next time you want to bash Call of Duty, the new Devil May Cry, or whatever else it is that provokes your ire, remember what you said here. By your own admission, you have no right to say jack shit.
As for the article in question, that's his opinion, so whatevs. MGS4 is shit, Uncharted 3 is shit, Demon's Souls is better than Dark Souls, Infamous 2 is awesome, Insomniac is overrated, Coke is better than Pepsi even though I advise refraining from both, Motorstorm 2 is the greatest racing game ever, Gran Turismo has always sucked, and Dragon Ball is just an okay show, but I really like this avatar. Opinions.Last edited by Forcedme; 03-29-2012 at 18:45.

There's an infinite difference between saying you didn't like something , and saying a well proven designer is "terrible. Uwe Boll makes movies, does that qualify him as someone people should listen to when talking about what makes a good movie. Programming a PC game is so incredibly easy that my mom could technically do that without ever playing a game, that does not make her an expert in the field.
This is nothing more than the standard no thought attacks or fanboism that somehow get counted as ideas in this era. Sorry but when you make a series of 4 games that average 5 million sold a piece, that is a good sign that you're doing something wrong. There can be things you don't like about a game, but unless you can actually say how it should be done better then you're opinion means nothing on it. This guy was doing nothing other than create flame bail to drive up hits to his site. If 10 people buy the game from it that is probably 10 times the pepole that ever heard of him in the first place.

I do agree with the boss fights. Apart from them being too easy, they would kill the flow of the game, being how action-orientated they were when you spend a lot of the time sneaking around. But I thought the story in Human Revolution was handled much better than what Hideo Kojima did with Metal Gear Solid 4. No long, drawn-out cutscenes or instances of repetitive dialogue.
I did find other games like Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory and Hitman: Blood Money enjoyable but only for their stealth mechanics. In my opinion, they never excelled in their storytelling. They were just really fun games to play.Last edited by Blacksite; 03-29-2012 at 22:04.

Blah what a joke. Geez. Why do so many developers getting so cocky these days? First was that random dude that low balled Japanese developers by saying Japanese games suck (although I kinda agree with him but he don't have to put it that way) and now this? They haven't been even making popular games and they act like as if they had made a game series that's more popular than MGS or something.
