The fact is no matter what you name it, people will always criticize and then eventually they will get used to it. Orbis sounds perfectly fine to me. And if they name it PS4 then that's cool as well.

I'm not talking about criticism though. I am talking about 40-50 year old parents going to buy something for Christmas, and they think - hey let's buy him a gaming console. Then they see Xbox 720 or Orbis.. lol. I'm pretty sure they will buy Xbox 720. Like I said, educated gamers will adapt, and get used to the name. I am simply talking about sales, for spur of the moment buyers.

All that being said, I'm sure Sony's marketing dept has discussed this. lol It's just IMO, it's not a good move.

I think this is possible. 4 is an unlucky number in Japanese culture. I think we may see an end to the numbered approach to naming consoles.

Metal Gear Solid 4 is pronounced Metaru Gia Soriddo Fō

And both titles performed considerably well. So why should this be any different with the PlayStation 4? They're just video games.

Still, it doesn't change the fact that there are video games from Japan that performed well, such as Persona 4 and Metal Gear Solid 4. It shouldn't be any different with the PlayStation 4.

I hope there isnt another Playstation system til at least 2014. I believe there is still time to enjoy what we already have. Im very much looking forward to the next generation of game consoles but give the people a breath and just release good software. Next year is not a good time to unleash another beast of a console especially since there are good games coming out in 2013.

I just feel like the good games will quickly die out once the next console is even announced because devs will finish up their game for the PS3, if they even have one at the time, and or jump straight to the next Sony console to try and figure it out and blah blah. But I guess thats just how the evolution of the game industry works... You cant stop change i suppose

I understand what you mean, I got a ps3 in late 2010 so I'm already running behind and trying to catch up on so many amazing games. So even if ps4 releases, I'll still be content playing the great ps3 games I missed

think the anti used games thing will get reversed at some moment in time. People will not invest as much, there are too many people that trade in a game and use the cash to get another. sometimes people think that they have made inroads into making more cash while they will generally limit themselves somewhat
