sourceThere are a lot of people who seem to be upset with Electronic Arts at the moment and for plenty of reasons too. From Origin to the recent Bioware/Mass Effect 3 issues, it doesn’t seem to bode well for the big publisher. It doesn’t help either that at The Consumerist’s Worst Companies of America, they are one of the final four in the bracket. The votes are compiled by users placing in their ballots during specific times, and right now EA is competing against Comcast.
While I do feel that EA has made some missteps in their strategies, let’s not forget that there was a period this generation where EA also made some great contributions such as Mirror’s Edge, Dead Space, and Henry Hadsworth. If they could only go back to the part we all enjoyed, they may have not found themselves in this situation in the first place.
Well they make it to the semi-finals? Well they become the worst company of America this year? That’s up for the voters to decide.

That list is a pile of hypocritical crap. There are Netflix, Apple, Facebook, Google, Sony and even Walmart on there. If people really hate these companies so much why do they keep on buying their products? Facebook alone has more people signed up for its service than there were on the whole planet 200 years ago.
If you really don't like something, don't support it.
The way I see it is that all these companies are just being bashed for being at the top. As simple as that.

I don't like Apple, therefore, I don't support them. Sorry if I can't speak for everyone. But being big doesn't necessarily mean they're great.
Yeah, people bash Apple simply because they're at the top, right? It has nothing to do with their expensive products, arrogant attitude, or closed architecture. Maybe the way you see it is that no one should say anything bad about these companies because they're turning a profit. The way I see it is that all these companies are just being bashed for being at the top. As simple as that.
I'm surprised that EA is considered to be one of the top 4 worst companies in America though. Activision is, in my opinion, a lot worse. They've driven so many of their IPs (Tony Hawk, Guitar Hero etc.) to the ground.Last edited by Blacksite; 03-30-2012 at 22:21.

This is basically just a list of the biggest companies (-microsoft)...
If you make another contest for the "best american companies" you'll most likely get similar results

Origin, begetters of Online passes and DRM makes EA look like fools to the industry. They've also angered their own workers with those changes along with gamers. There were even plans(Or it's already in effect) for annual subscription charges to games!(Tetris). Even if this poll is obviously biased, I think they deserve a good spot up there as the worst American company.

I guess those four deserve it but I'm sure there is worse. Bank of America will be crowned worst in my opinion.

I'd rather see Activision up there imo.

Facebook?
Wtf, that shit is free.
Agree with three out of top four though, Walmart should be replaced with Comcast; but Comcast got beat in top 8 I guess.I talk to myself because I'm the only one whose answers I accept.

What haven't they done, for the last 20 something years their business practices have been borderline illegal and they are the kings of making people think apple products are better than they really are. Personally I was done with them after my piece of crap Nano died after a few weeks and they tried to charge me $150 to replace it. In reality their products aren't even that good once you get past the hype machine and take off the shiny cover that sits over cheap crappy parts.

I wonder if EA is actually that bad a company or if this is mostly a bunch of angry ME players?

Illegal? Yeah, right... And I don't like onion rings on my Big Mac.
And dude, you believe that a company making people think their products are better than what they really are is wrong? Seriously? This is the BEST marketing strategy you can think of since it is not THEM but the consumers that are dumb enough to blindly follow them anywhere. What Apple achieved within the last few years is nothing short of extraordinary. They basically don't have to fight for their consumers but have the consumers fight for them.
You are just bitter because of your Nano...
Definitely the latter.
Because there always has to be someone that has to fill that spot. Even if it doesn't make any sense.Last edited by Wrath; 03-30-2012 at 21:13.
