500 Internal Server Errors

I just thought I would bring it up because we had 11,000 guests a while ago and the most that I recall happening was it taking longer to load pages. But we didn't get any server errors. Now we started to get them at 2,000 guests. Where are these traffic spikes coming from anyway?

Yeah I had a couple signing in and a couple looking into threads a couple of mins ago

Seems to be stable now.

But I'm curious as to why it wasn't this bad before. The last time we had traffic spikes this high was after Bishop and company upgraded the servers.

last time our spikes were 4000 visitors

this time, we hit nearly 18k.

Fix is incoming, as it isn't server related in terms of speed and storage.

I was talking about the time we exceeded 11,000 a week after you brought us on two additional servers and the site handled that load fairly well. My point was that it wasn't until we hit 2,000 guests that I kept getting these server errors. But if you're saying this wasn't an issue of speed and storage, then what caused it?

Yeah, it's been very persistent today. Failure to load pages, quick edit, post etc.

I'm getting them too but it's nothing major, a quick refresh always fixes it for me.

Yea..it's been pretty annoying to click a thread and see that every other 4 clicks to a different area

I'm sure Mr. Bishop and company will find a way to fix it. Until then, it's going to take twice as long to really do anything on the forums.

Truth be told, we have updated the servers, software, etc... tracking down WHY this is happening now will take a little time. Will keep you updated as i know things!

Haven't been told if they did or not.

Problem is, it happens like it did yesterday. at 8 am, people complained in the shoutbox. then 3 hours of nothing. at 11, people noted the errors again... again, it went a few hours. Then at 5 pm AGAIN people got errors. I got a couple of them at 6 pm, then again at closer to 10:30.

So it is sporadic.

As far as I know, Mr. B is getting both site guys on this cause frankly we are as tired of it as the members are.
