South Korean Woman Gives Birth in Internet Cafe, Kills Baby

A woman in South Korea has been arrested after allegedly killing a baby she gave birth to in an internet cafe.
Police say the 26-year-old woman allegedly gave birth in the Seoul internet cafe on the 25th of March, before putting the infant in a plastic bag, sealing it, and leaving it in a nearby parking lot.
The woman is now being held in a state nursing facility and will face trial for infanticide.
"She was playing games until right before she gave birth in the cafe's bathroom," a police spokesman in the city's Songpa district said. "She didn't even know her waters had broken.”
South Korea, a nation famous for embracing online gaming, is no stranger to almost bizarre deaths linked to gaming. In 2010, a mother murdered her three-year-old son when fatigued from online gaming.

In the same year, a 41-year old was given a two year prison sentence after he and his wife left their baby daughter at home while spending time at internet cafes, causing her to die of malnutrition.

Strangely the impression I've gotten over the years is that the asian countries are exceedingly eccentric.


There was another case in South of Best Korea where some kid died from dehydration in a gaming cafe- he was playing Starcraft nonstop. In Korea Starcraft is legitimately a sport- even their Air Force has a Starcraft Team. Starcraft is televised nationally and every year the tournament takes place in a stadium that holds more people than an NFL championship game in the USA.

Having a newborn baby here at home, this disgusts me. Literally..makes me sick. I look at my new little girl, how innocent and precious she is ..and I can't help but want to beat the holy living fuck out of someone (male or female) who would bring harm to something as wonderful as a new baby.

I guess having this baby spend a week in NICU with us exhausting ourselves to be with her before we could even hold her, or bring her home puts me on the side of the baby...

Korea is a place of gaming nightmares and it just gets worse and worse, They have in china a GA center or centers to help people quite gaming if they are addicted
