There is also the thing about not all cops are going to be honest and not corrupt. It is up to you look out for yourself. I don't see how what he said only applies to people that are guilty.

Cops are not carrying a guilty/not guilty meter with them that they can tell who is and isn't guilty without any type of investigation -- in their eyes anyone can be guilty because they need to look at everything.

The advice he's giving isn't bad advice.

    EDIT

The scenario you mention in your post F34R, isn't really the type of situation he gives examples of (as far as I've heard him talk, someone else is speaking now.)
Oh, but it is exactly like they are talking about. This scenario I speak of is actually a real case that happened a few years ago where I work. The witness called it in, and they brought her in to question her, etc. If she had simply just said she wasn't going to talk to the police when they asked her in to get the info, then they wouldn't have caught this bastard that hit a 9 year old and took off.

I watched the entire video. I stand by my response. YOU might think it's better...

I wouldnt really want to talk to the police in almost any situation. But I was wondering, if they want to question you or get a testimony, can you get a stain of immunity (can you please tell me the proper terminology) so that your words cant be used against you?
In the case of the nine year old, i would probably tell them what I saw but if they got into asking anything regarding myself, i would probably stfu right there.

I've just seen and heard too many stories that does not make me feel like if I talk to the police, they will have my best interest at heart. So many that i no longer think these stories qualify as isolated incidences but as starting trends. I generally like the police and Am always respectful of the work they do, I'm just not going to put myself into any kind of vulnerable situation with them.
