I haven't played the earlier Tribes games but Ascend is pretty awesome.

Tribes is probably the most fun online multiplayer game i have played next to TDM in the first half life game

I love the fast pace in the older games.

Edit: Where has this game been all of my life? Played a few games and i think it's amazing. Can't wait until i fully get to grips with the controls, i've had some pretty sweet kills so far

How do you turn off the numbers when shooting enemy, it totally gets in my way.

Has everyone got steam? If so we can use it to voice chat.

Man, i've missed playing a FPS where it actually came down to little one on one battles at times. Trying to jetback and ski around whilst chasing/being chased by someone is such a laugh. Nothing more satisfying than getting chased backwards skiing the slopes and guessing where you think they'll land to plant a nice explosion there.
