Indeed a nice line up there. There are numerous high-profile new titles headed to retail in 2012, but which are the most hotly anticipated for each console? According to a new study from audience measurement firm Nielsen, across all consoles, Halo 4 and Assassin's Creed III are the most eagerly awaited.
Xbox 360 owners are hot for Halo.
Nielsen's "Game Rank" is the result of the firm combining eight "key consumer metrics" like awareness and purchase interest into a total rank, and then comparing it to scores for previously released games on the same platform. This is represented in a percentile ranking, denoted in parentheses below.
According to Nielsen's findings, top Xbox 360 titles for 2012 are Halo 4 (98 percent), Assassin's Creed III (94 percent), and Max Payne 3 (91 percent). PlayStation 3 gamers are most interested in Assassin's Creed III (98 percent), Max Payne 3 (96 percent), and Madden NFL 13 (96 percent).
The top three most anticipated 2012 Wii titles, based on Nielsen's findings, are Madden NFL 13 (96 percent), Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two (94 percent), and Battleship (84 percent).
Titles included in Nielsen's analysis were those announced before March 23, 2012, and expected to ship between April and December. Below are Nielsen's most-anticipated 2012 titles, denoted by platform. Italicized titles are platform-exclusives.

That's a "gimme"... it's interesting to note that amount of MP titles over exclusives... on the list.

Well my 3 most anticipated are in the list (Bioshock, Prototype and AC 3)
. Was surprised to see no TLOU but I don't think there has been enough revealed for people to give much of a damn at this point. lol The omission of Borderlands 2 is a lil surprising.

I think the problem with TLOU is that it has been confirmed for a late 2012 "or" early "2013" release. Hard to anticipate a game when you don't know the release date.

I can see that. It's probably the biggest selling franchise since HaloCE dropped.

How in the hell is Madden still a game people want to buy? It hasn't been good since 2004.
It's funny that in this day in age people can steal as long as they have a reason too. Even if that reason is created by the thieves themselves.

Yeah I noticed that too. I guess exclusives really dont matter as much this gen. That is especially noticable on the PS3 games list that didnt have a single first party game on it despite all the exclusives that the PS3 has. At least these exclusives don't matter to your average gamer out there in the real world apparently. And Halo is a beast. Its a given that it will sell well. Not surprised that its at the top.

I said this a while ago and a bunch of people here laughed at me.
I think that the PS3 has so many exclusives that a vast majority of people either don't have the money, time or desire to play them all. They pick and choose which ones they will buy thus lowering sales of all of them.
