Looks like Vita sales are dropping. This is the first time I've seen it drop below 10k as far as I can remember.

When the sales go below 10k, you know there's something wrong.

well tbh the vita isnt really interesting at the moment i like Uncharted series alot but its just not a type of game that would make me buy a new handheld tbh, and then theres the continous sequels of Wipeout games that gets out at every PS console launch those games were cool when MTV was at their prime and techno artists made music videos and soundtracks for them, today it just gets boring after 3-4 races imo.

there's not even a Vita game in the top 20, that might change in the coming weeks though

I'm a bit concerned about the Vita in all the markets tbh. Its in dire need of a price drop and more games.

A price cut would help gain consumer traction, but the problem is the absence of positive advertising and the identification of a USP in a world where smartphone gaming has become entrenched. Sony also lacks the big portable IP (Mario, Pokemon) that sells large volumes across multiple territories, so there will need to be a strategy rethink there.
Ultimately I think the lifespan of the Vita will be limited, and that it will be merged into future Sony mobile products to provide a more compelling experience for consumers.
