bought it yesterday. The graphics tighten up quite a bit on the smaller PSP screen and it looks decent at that scale. Works like a charm. No lag at all so the battlesystem works perfectly. Can't wait to explore this game again for the 3rd time. This time I'll probably try to collect all the Stardust...

I always think of this game when Dragoon is mentioned.

However I have heard great things about this game and it might be a potential buy for me, will have to do some research.

Collecting them can be a pain. A few of them are impossible to go back to if you missed them so I keep a list of them close to me at all times. Lol!.
I'm having some trouble executing the attacks since it's been so long but I'm getting the hang of it again. The OST is giving me a lot of nostalgia. I miss the golden age.

I'm on the fence about getting it, you guys all say its great but why did all the reviewers not give it the best scores?

The game to date, has one of the bigger divides I've seen in critical and user opinion. With them seeming to average ~75% and 90+% respectively on just about any site you check. Seeing as the game sold more than enough to become a greatest hits title (1 million+ sold), I would hold side with the bigger audience that actually payed for the game, since even with the greater numbers of users, it still rated higher for them than it did for the few dozen or so critics on average.
Some reviewers did give it great scores however.
Daily Radar (GamesRadar now), and Gamepro both gave it full marks.
Game Informer gave it a 9 out of 10. OPM gave it a 4.5 out of 5.
Hell if you look at gamerankings (more extensive than meta critic here), you'll see that of the 26 reviews, 10 of them gave it 90%+ (It should actually be 11 since gamerankings forgot to put Daily Radar up there), that's more people than those that scored within 80% (3), 70% (6), 60% (5) or below (2).
And even still, some of the scores that reviewed it less than 80% still got some things completely wrong. Like the constant comparisons to FF7 that I saw, claiming its too alike or what not. And stuff like that, is completely false. The worlds aren't alike in the least, the characters and story is completely different, and the gameplay is nothing alike with any FF whatsoever. I can tell you right now, Cloud and Dart have really nothing in common other than being sword users. Dart certainly isn't the depressing, overly brooding emo type like Cloud was. He's more of the Gung ho, motivating leader type.Last edited by RedOrb_Collector; 05-04-2012 at 17:14.

I just died a little inside. A demanded sequel killed off before it even got it's wings. Dragoon wings that is.
Downloading it to show support though, i loved it. Now if they could only get R.A.D. on there..
I had no intentions of becoming a leader. It is as a warrior how I shall be remembered, but these are hardly numbers worth dying for.

The game actually looks keen on the psp. I wish I had the chance back in the day playing the game on the portable.

My little brother is enjoying the game a lot. This is his first time playing it so it's exciting to hear him say that even though he frequents Call of Duty.
