GTA V Rumored Release Date on “March 9″ Leaked From PSM3

So after the October fairy tale for GTA V – which we fairly believe will happen. A new rumor-mill was taken from PSM3’s May issue claiming the highly anticipated open-world title will only arrive next year — March 9 to be exact.

Just to be sure, we have a screenshot above sent by our reader taken from the mag’s “most wanted” section. From the page it says: “It’s back to the sun-kissed streets of San Andreas for the latest in Rockstar’s seminal series, out 9 March”.

GTAForums has a nice thread talking about this leak, and most of its members are wondering if this “Out 9 March” means its launch date for 2013, or just a placeholder time for something else? Meanwhile, we check the majestic date on our calendar and it turns out to be a Saturday – too bad. As we all know, Rockstar likes to release GTA titles on Tuesday similar with San Andreas on October 26, 2004 or GTA IV on April 29, 2008. Then again, if you’ll look at the date of Max Payne 3 (the company’s confirmed triple-A title for this year), it’ll hit May 15 which is a Sunday on North America.

In our previous reports, we revealed several reasons why the game will most likely hit on October onwards. In fact, there’s also a related article explaining why GTA V will arrive on Q4, particularly during the holidays. As hinted by Take-Two (Rockstar’s parent company) making a statement that while its fiscal Q3 for 2011 had gone sour, the outfit is still confident it’ll have the “most lucrative” fiscal year on 2013 suggesting GTA V might be their midas touch.

There’s also a screenshot taken from the magazine to show it’s legit. That’s it.

This should be treated as a rumor of course, but its much more reliable (in my opinion) then Take Two releasing both GTV5 and Bioshock Infinite in the same month.

I think releasing in March is a better idea actually. GTA would have no problem selling but why compete against all the other huge games that come out in the fall?

Well if you remember GTAs have always had an Autumn release window..GTA IV also had an Autumn release window but it was delayed to spring/summer the following year.

Seems legit. I have to admit I can't wait to get my hands on it, but I guess its okay if they take their time to polish it as much as they can.

I don't think Rockstar Games would have to worry about competition. But if they were going to release Grand Theft Auto V in October, we would have likely had more information on the game at this point, including a new trailer.

im thinking there going to announce the release date at e3 and a trailer, prolly a demo for e3. i think there going to release it in october or november, just in time for the holiday season. idk about march 9th but it would be good for certain people i really want the october release date though!!

I read about releasing it around that time the other day. Apparently the way of thinking is so that it doesn't have any other big released to go up against, which makes sense. Anyhow, GTA IV came out in April, did it not?

Well, this is the next game I am highly anticipating.
