How do you feel about 2012's video game 1st quarter, months January through March? Do you feel this gen is getting stale? Are you finding that the 1st quarter lacked quality games? Or were you pleased with the number of quality games? How do you feel about the games previewed in this quarter? Any other thoughts?

I've had little to no interest in anything released so far. It'll be until fall that anything good actually comes out this year.

I think its been okay (from a being broke standpoint its been great), only had Final Fantasy XIII-2 and Mass Effect 3
that really interested me.

September and October is where all the games are, as usual..

It's amazing how companies decided to boycott the first half of 2012 and agreed on releasing all the good games on the second. Stupid Industry.

Not a bad 1st quarter, Vita released and some nice titles cam out, but I'm still chilling out on BF3 and Skyrim amongst other titles. I got:

This year is gonna kick my ass. Aliens: CM, Bioshock Infinite, Prototype 2, Borderlands 2, Starhawk and tons more. 2011 and 2012 are both the YearOTGen imho.

I just received the J&D Collection from Gamefly but haven't really sunk my teeth into it yet. The only game I was really excited about for Q1 2012 was Mass Effect 3, but that was a big letdown due to the much talked about ending. I'm really looking forward to Q2 2012, though. Max Payne 3 and Starhawk both arrive next month!

theres also MGS collection which is the only thing ive bought along with Jak 3 which was the only one i didnt manage to play or complete on ps2,.
Im kinda glad i didnt buy the Jak collection imo the games just dont hold up today the progress in the game is rather simple and the universe is still the somewhat dark and boring one from Jak 2. While the race bits and hidde neggs are less annoying in this game its still unbelievable how Naughty Dog managed to not make these parts better to a degree where you dont get smacked with a hint just before entering a corner ruining your whole concentrated race. And theres still parts in these race bits where you have no idea what would be the logical path for one of those race rings to appear before you run out of time or decide to drive straight ahead its utter stupid game design imo, rather than having a nice race you end up have to do 30 tries till you have memorized the whole path.

Meh again this one (jak3) actually have some midway checkpoints in the races which saves it a bit but i could not play Jak 1 and 2 again ever or 3 once i complete it, its just odd these games were so highly rated back then i definitely found the early Ratchet games to be more fun although the variety in those games gameplay is slightly less

Pretty good i would say. PS Via launched with a slew of games. ME3, TM, Journey, J&D Collection and a few other games came out. Enough to keep people busy and interested for a while

For me personally it was a terrible quarter. I haven't bought a single game, only the MGS collection but it was for my bro's birthday. Hopefully Sony pumps out some good games soon because nothing interests me atm.

It was alright. As you pointed out in the OP, we had Twisted Metal, Journey, Uncharted: Golden Abyss, MLB 12: The Show and Silent Hill: Downpour. Next year's first quarter in gaming should be a lot better though with Level 5's Ni no Kuni and Grand Theft Auto V (assuming the game is slated for a release in March).

I forgot to give my opinion.

It was an average quarter for me, Final Fantasy XIII-2 was my main game. Then again, my finances are the not the best so it could just be because I haven't had money to spare for video games.
