Posting turned off - Tech Area

I noticed when I tried to post a new thread in the Tech Area that there's no posting new thread buttons...





there's no button in here to post a new thread, so I'm going to post in the ps3 area...since I'm a little short on time and probably will have to get my daughter a bottle in just a few, I'd rather type it out now than when I'm trying to give her a bottle...harder to type with a squirming infant.

I think that section just needs to be removed. That's what the respective system sections are there for. It's just going to cause more fragmentation of the threads/sections.

It is there for a reason. If the reason falls through, we will remove the section.

Maybe you could explain the section purpose that can't be fulfilled within the other sections already established.

We had, or maybe have something going on the Mr. B is working out where this section was to be the ONLY forum where these threads are posted. We posted a few of the threads in here as an experiment, not so much to impact members but rather other things. Hence, why we didn't move ALL of the 'my shit is broke' threads here.

Yes, that will be fine. I'll even waive the normal consultation fee.

Well, it kinda helps to let the members know that sections are being made, the intent for those sections, etc. so that there isn't the issue of people posting in multiple sections. If members don't know which sections are exclusive to which types of threads, then it isn't going to have the proper effect. Some people will post in the PS3 section because it's the more active section and their questions have a better chance of being answered in a timely manner. Others will see the new section, is it new?, and post there only to be disappointed that very few people viewed there thread, and even fewer even replied.

since we didn't necessarily want everyone posting in there, hence no announcement, we were prepared to answer questions that arise. I am pretty tired of hearing "they post in the PS3 section cause it's the most active"

It isn't.

The off topic area is the most active.

People here just need to get used to the idea that the middle mouse button scrolls and there will be other forums popping up that they might just have to use.

I will tell those involved why and see if they still want to proceed.

Funny, it was in place for more than 4 months and no one noticed... till now...
