I can't understand how this is a problem. What if it was set in another city? Other than a few landmarks, would you really distinguish one city from the other? Also, this time the map has been divived into zones (red, yellow, green) each with their own dynamics and appearance.
This game is gonna rip shit up, literally.![]()

Good stuff, I thought the first one was just a blast to play. The graphics were ok and it had it's issues but was a total blast to play. Pre-ordered Prototype 2 last night when I went to pick up The Witcher 2.

Its more to do with the environment, the way the cities are set and how they feel.
I guess a game like this is meant to be in a city with large buildings.
If it was not for their LITERALLY not being any other games available right now that interest me, i will probably buy this.

Glad to hear this is getting good reviews. I really hated the first one.

Just saw a live action trailer tonight while watching the champions league game. Said 9/10 from OPM at the bottom! Nice

Prototype 2 review - Activision gets impressive 9/10 from OPM
http://www.computerandvideogames.com...VG-General-RSSPrototype 2 looks set to be one of the surprises of the year, with Official PlayStation Magazine UK following up GamesMaster's 86% review with an even more impressive 9/10.
In its next issue writer Rob Taylor describes the Activision sequel as, "the ultimate manifestation of comic book violence". "The combat recalls GOW meets Arkham City, though it's far more simplistic," he explains. While it's not perfect - "The oft-repeated dodge moves and finishers against tougher identikit enemies grate before the end"- it is, according to Taylor, "a far stronger game in every aspect than the original and a compelling counterpoint to Infamous 2″.
He closes by describing it as, "a gore-packed sandbox masterpiece". There's a box quote for you.
In its new issue GamesMaster says of the game: "Prototype 2 gives power to the player in ways many titles can only dream of. It gives you options, it lets you explore and experiment, and it's a riotous and compulsive experience. Drink it in."
Good stuff. Activision recently released a slightly emotional live-action trailer for Prototype 2, but if you'd prefer straight up face-smashing gameplay, have a gander at this recent tank mayhem trailer.

I played for about an hour just now and I just wanted to keep playing. The first game did not pull me in at all and I think I quit after 2hrs of playing.
Prototype 2 seems to have fixed a lot of what I hated in the first one. Better graphics, better story, better movement, etc. I also really like how I earned like 5 achievements in the first 30 mins of playing. They are pretty much just handed to you though. I had to stop playing because I did not want to ruin my PS3 experience when it releases on Tuesday.
So far, you can color me impressed!
