I'm having a lot of trouble making signatures and graphics like I want to.I'm using GIMP 2.
I can make a good background and I'm getting better at using brushes, but I'm having trouble with images. I can't make the image match the background and I'm using layers and everything. I made a Ninja entry for SOTW and I wish I could get the sig right.
Here is what I have so far:
Please help!

Working with computer graphics is not something that can be picked up and learned in a few seconds. I've been messing around with it for 4 years now, and I still have a ton to learn.
Can you show us a bigger image? I can barely see that./UPSET THE ESTABLISHED ORDER AND EVERYTHING BECOMES CHAOS\

Since you're having troubles, you should start with images with background rather than using renders and making your own backgrounds.
And like Kwes said, it takes a LOT of time. You see, madness, as you know, is like gravity. All it takes is a little push!

Well then, can I see the bigger one? I can only help if I can see it.

And it is very frustrating getting to be good at gimp, or PS. But as long as you hang in there and keep going. Make sure to make sigs as often as you can for experience, and check out some tutorials on how to blend a render with a background./UPSET THE ESTABLISHED ORDER AND EVERYTHING BECOMES CHAOS\

Hmm..well first off, the image you are using looks like shit. You want to find hi def images, the larger the better. The one you have looks low res and the box around it does not go at all. I just whipped this up to demonstrate.

I didn't use a render, but instead made the effects fall in and behind the image to make it look like it. Just erasing what looks bad is often key. Also, getting lighting and gradients down is also a very good way to get an image to blend into the sig./UPSET THE ESTABLISHED ORDER AND EVERYTHING BECOMES CHAOS\
