last time i heard, the wii was sitting around 96 mil consoles ww sold... ps3 around 65 mil.

4.2 million / 17765 = 236 weeks (4.5 years) to catch up, IF the Wii stopped selling TODAY.

With the Wii still selling though, add another 384 weeks, or 7.4 years.

True, until you see the games coming for PS3 vs the games coming for Wii. PS3 has still yet to get a full blown Monster Hunter. And it has a nice amount of JRPGs coming which should boost it up, the Wii has very little. DQX is the only big title it has left and tbh its looking like it'll just be a Wii U title now, if it even releases for that, its basically the FFvs13 of the Wii.

Supposedly Golden Week is coming up soon for Japan. I wonder how that will affect sales or if there will be any major promotions or game releases that might spur on some increases.

IIRC Gravity Daze took the number 1 spot on release. EveryBody's Golf and Uncharted were both in the top 10 too.

This is a japan sales thread, and when asked, the person was asking about the japan sales gap between Wii and PS3. In Japan, the Ps3 has and will always be ahead of the Xbox, so the gap is pointless. WW, the gap is still large depending on which fuzzy math resource you choose to use, the number varies.

Yep. Last I heard the WW gap was back to around 4 million in favor of 360.
