"100 Bonus chess puzzles"
As I know how to play chess, having puzzles to study before playing will make for a good brain tease while you're on a short train or bus ride.
Hold the phone... So we have to give silly reasons for features for a game we don't care about, lets face it everyone here just wants a free Vita or a second to sell on ebay, but twitter guys just have to click a button and RT?

The feature most useful to me would be the tutorials. Chess has always been one of those games that I've played but never been any good at so hopefully the tutorials can change that

My favorite feature is the Play By Mail feature. This could make playing with/challenging friends really interesting and fun. The comprehensive tutorials also looks very cool, I've tried to learn new strategies through books but can never seem to make it through them, this could be very helpful!

My favourite feature is the bonus puzzles. That seems like it would be very cool for learning new moves and learning to play the game in an advanced way, and learn new ways to beat friends!

Thanks a bunch for all entries.
The winner has been announced as Natalie88, a newbie to the forums who we hope will now stick around!!
They'll be lots more opportunities over the coming months with other competitions.

Hmmmm, we shouldnt allow people just to sign up to win summit, there should be post count thingy for this sort of thing tbh. this gives real active members a better chance and not some random.

Maybe there's a way we can do this sort of thing differently. I'll bring it up at the next PSU meeting.

Congrats to Natalie88, but I would rather it had gone to an active poster as well...
Well done all the same!
Bring on PlayStation 2013!

I think there's probably a balance we need to strike here. We don't want to put off new subscribers and competitions like this certainly get a few of those over, but it's also a massive shame if those who come over don't stay with the community. We'll have a think about how to better handle these competitions. Thanks for the feedback.

Most sites do this by requiring the contestant to have an activated account prior to the date of posting the contest. If they're in it for the contests, they'll see that there are other contests going on periodically and they'll still join and may get interested. If they don't join because of this, then they are highly unlikely to have become a forum participant anyway.
PS: Congrats to Natelie88

EDIT: Too late!
"When I was 12, I milked my eel into a pot of turtle stew. I flogged the one-eyed snake, I skinned my sausage. I made the bald man cry into the turtle stew, which I believe my sister ate. At least I hope she did."

Just because I'm not an active poster doesn't mean I don't use the site. I joined the site 3 years ago but I generally browse the news section without logging in so does that mean by the reckoning of some posts (#57 & #59) that I shouldn't be eligible to enter the contests? Isn't it the same as most twitter contests that only require you to follow and retweet irrespective of the interest in the host site? And the same as most other contests that require no affiliation with a site. Yes, it is preferable if the winner has some interest in the prize or host site but as demonstrated by the generalization of #51 who commented that most entries only want Vita and have no interest in Pure Chess (which is false as otherwise I wouldn't have Pure Chess on my PS3) its impossible to determine who would genuinely be most deserving of the prize.
