Sony confirms Resistance: The Trilogy release

The first three entries in Insomniac's Resistance FPS series are to be bundled up and sold as one, Sony has confirmed.

The PlayStation 3 release was first sighted on Amazon France by CVG, with a 16th May release date quoted.

Publisher Sony has since confirmed to Eurogamer that the pack is the real deal and more details will be announced soon.

The last outing for the franchise was the respectably-reviewed Resistance 3, which launched to disappointing sales last September.

Insomniac has since retired itself from the brand, but the franchise lives on with the Nihilistic Software-developed Resistance: Burning Skies due out on Vita from 30th May.

Well, the second one is the one that trailed too much away from the original but it has an amazing 8 player online Co-op. Resistance 3 did marvelous for it's single player but ended without answering all the mystery left in the first two games. As for it's multiplayer, I personally thought that they didn't progress much.

Really? I felt the stories got stronger but the multiplayer weaker lol

Regardless, excellent games for what I'm sure will be a great price

Well, I've got 1 and 2 but the second I picked up used, so if this cheap I might sell 1 and 2 and put it towards this. They should get them up on PSN too though.

I've only played the original game, but I've been meaning to pick up the other two for some time now. This bundle isn't a surprise, now Insomniac is done with the series it's a nice sign-off for them and a great way to re-introduce gamers to the franchise.

Might even pick this up for my best mate's birthday.

Not played any of them, but it would be a really good way to pick them up instead of individual games like I'm having to do for Assassin's Creed. Will definitely look at this when it's released.

Hopefully this pack gets people playing RFOM online again, it is the only PS3 Resistance game worth playing online afterall.

I hope Sony doesn't make another resistance for the ps3. Save it for the ps4 and continue the main story and answer a lot of questions.

As for this trilogy set, I'll pass. I'm not interested in playing 1 and 2 again. I already have r3.

I know, it's just my opinion. When I look at the box art I'm reminded of the series.
