Konami patching up both Silent Hill Downpour and HD collection

We're having a hard time thinking of other instances of a simultaneous patch announcement for two different games. Konami has issued a rare Two Patch Announcement for Silent Hill Downpour and Silent Hill HD Collection, planning to fix framerate problems and audio synching in the former, and auto-save issues in the latter.

Both updates will be released on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in "the coming weeks." Still unaddressed, however, is the strange bug that occasionally causes the in-game environment to get all creepy and evil-looking.

Wouldn't it have made more sense to simply delay the titles? I mean, how do you end up with issues for such a common feature like auto-saving? These development companies might be screwed if patches weren't so common in video games nowadays.

Oh konami...how the might have fallen. I'm really glad I haven't picked either of these titles up. They delayed them both like 4 times before, and still they had problems? And to think, Konami use to be one of my favorite studios back in the SNES, PSX and PS2 days.

They need to really patch the HD Collection because I am so disappointed with it. I honestly think it is one of the worst HD Collections to release.

Good that they're addressing the issues but it really doesn't make up for the fact both games were delayed well beyond their original release date for extra dev time, and they STILL couldn't iron out these issues until now. Konami have really buggered this one up.

I see people bitching about Bethesda all the time here. Have you not been paying attention?
Fortunately for me, I've been one of the lucky ones and never encountered a game breaking bug in a Bethesda game.

Well I never had any auto-saving problems with Downpour and the only the small and very minor issue I have with SH2 is that sometimes it can lag or get choppy a bit, you know, just like when you're loading an area of the level. Other than that, it's fine. Still have to play SH3, but not until I beat SH2 first. I LOVE the collection so far, although I am disappointed that they didn't include SH4. That should have been a no-brainer.

Yeah, regardless of what people think about it, The Room is still a Silent Hill title for the PlayStation 2. The original game I can understand not seeing it included because it's simply too old for an HD conversion.

Konami should fuck off and die already. There's no excuses to release such buggy crap as the HD collection, you can't even have a 10 year old game perform decently on ps3 and 360? On top of that Downpour has a completely broken save system and also lots of performance issues, but no, had to be pushed out to make this fiscal year report.

I agree. There is ZERO reason not to include Silent Hill 4.

Explains the retail price, $39.99 because the HD collection for MGS was $49.99..but honestly, the SH HD collection is worth $30 at most. It's just two games. At least the trophies give it replay value. But whatever, I got it because I'm a fan. Unlike Resident Evil, it didn't take the series into Action Horror and it still scares the shit out of me playing alone at night.

Actually despite its bugs, that is my biggest complaint, TROPHIES
I've got PSN games that have more trophies then both put together, and the ones that are there, geez atleast if it had more trophies it'll give you reason to play it multiple times, but to have to play it multiple times to get 1 trophy, and then again for another and another, terrible
MGS had good trophies & so did GoW

I agree that Silent Hill 4: The Room should have been included in the HD Collection, it doesn't make any sense why they left it out. It would have been great to have all three PS2-era Silent Hill games in one bug-free HD bundle.
