Ya, my bad for not doing correctly the first time. I was a little birthday drunk and it was like midnight when I changed it.

I'm finding the escort quests really difficult. The 'escorted' always seems to die, lag behind, or I run into a group of cyclops and bandits.
The Troublesome Tome Quest (Gran Soren)
Running a party of Sorcerer, Ranger, Warrior, Mage. (My standard set up for 4 people parties, DPS, DEX, Tank, Heals)
Also my pawn is a Ranger/Strider.
Female human Ranger, level 24+ (constantly changing). Very good foe + quest knowledge. Appearance changes, pre-Gran Soren, the armour I had looked really good for her, it matched well. Since reaching Gran Soren, armour has required me to sacrifice appearance for durability :P
Add me if you need a 'DEX' addition to your party, she knows how well to take down cyclopsi, after running into many of them ¬.¬"
PSN: GlassGun
Also this is a must if your wanting your pawn to be hired again.
- Make sure your pawn has a lantern (that way I don't have to give them one)
- Make sure your pawn has oil to fill the lantern
- A nice addition is give your pawn a pickaxe, that way they can mine for me too
In addition more info on DD DLC.
I found this about Launch Day DLC:
From the Different Sky – Part 1
The first of a ten part series of additional quests. New quests will be available every week.
http://www.justpushstart.com/2012/05...t-day-one-dlc/
Also someone talked about not being able to choose race when creating a character?
You can choose between the basic sort of RPG races. Human, elf, dwarf, pixie-child thing.
There is an option for pointy ears, which is the main distinguishing feature of an elf (knife ears) and then a wide arrange of eyes/noses and face shapes to make them elf-like.
Same goes with dwarves in that you can have very stout characters with bolshy noses and beards
And then then pixie-child things which I just find creepy. Generally I turn away a child pawn.
Also a tip if your running low on money.
Just as a tip, hold on to your stuff you plan to sell, and grab a bunch of pawns with the sorcerers selling bonus augment equipped. It stacks multiplicatively so the first is 15%, the second a bit over 30%, etc.

could it be? has capcom made something GOOD?
holy shit! i bought Dragon's Dogma and it is BRILLIANT. i'm having so much fun with it. definitely the best dungeon crawler for consoles so far (not counting skyrin of course) and to top things off it runs better on our console, i've barely had any sort of framerate issue and there has been some big things going on. anyone else get it?

Let's be honest: You sleep with anything that walks on two legs. Sometimes, you're not even that discriminating

I'll definitely look up your pawn and use him in my group. I hate that I haven't been able to play much of the game yet, I've just been so busy the past few days. I'm looking forward to playing a lot of it this weekend though and I'll try to use some pawns from people on here. What level is your Mage, Gumionday?

Escort quests are getting retarded and rather long.
Had to escort some brat from the capital, down near the encampment, and had to keep going left to "the shadow fort"... ended up finding so many damn goblins, a chimera, and the freaking dragon that kicked my ass. Forgot to save. >.<
Two questions:
1. Where does everyone find the kickass looking equipment? Is there another town after the capital with better gear? o.o
2. When abouts do you get the option to change your pawns look and that? I'm contemplating making it into a female.
Me: lvl 29-ish Magick Archer
Main Pawn: lvl29-ish mage, my healer.
usually have a sorcerer and a warrior as my support

I went ahead and merged some of the more recent Dragon's Dogma threads (all of which were posted within the month) together.

Oh wow, came back from a full day of not playing, went to an inn to rest and 51k RC... thanks guys

if your looking for equipment upgrades when you reach Gran Soren, remember to check out Madeline's shop in the Venery if you helped from Casardias to the Encampment

How soon does that quest pop up? I'm like ten hours into came and my team is finally whooping butt. Few people using my pawn which is great. She is fire mage with healing for now because fire is best. Got a tank pawn and another healer pawn that debuffs. Oh and me as strider.

The quest first appeared for me in Cassardias, before the hydra attack on the encampment. Quite early on.
Most people will be looking for a mage that can heal, so make sure you get high anodine quickly, aswell as a few debuffs. Augments would be good aswell.
I think you also need to pay her 10k in travel fees, for her to actually make it to the capital.Last edited by Scrubs42; 05-26-2012 at 22:29.

To get better equipment you have to do the quarry mine quest-forgot the specific name but i think it's found on the quest board at union inn. It'll "open up trade from abroad"
SN: Anyone need a warrior send for my main pawn Aanabi she fully ranked as a warrior and kickass.
Psn ID: zex494
ALSO!! I KILLED MY FIRST DRAKE TODAY!! took at least 35+mins. i was only lvl 32 thankfully i used sum rift points to draft a lvl 39 mageI had no intentions of becoming a leader. It is as a warrior how I shall be remembered, but these are hardly numbers worth dying for.

Wasnt it only 1k? She appears in the first towns inn to give you the quest.
Does it get better equipment then what you can get with the gold/silver idols in the capital? Never saw that quest at any boards, but drakes are a pain in the ass lol

Hmm, I think if you escort her and pay the money, you get discounts from her shop. I currently have to pay for 30k for the rings that protect against fire/ice/poison/lightning etc.
Still finding baleful nails to be the best piece of jewellry yet though.
I've been selling bronze + cursed idols. Should I have kept them?
And hmm I'll have to find this quarry mine quest?
Got too much gold, 156k to mess around with, really want to upgrade my pawn :PLast edited by Scrubs42; 05-27-2012 at 14:44.

I just acquired my first silver idol today so i dont know what equipment comes from that. However, after you finish the quarry mine quest a merchant sets up shop inside. He sells better stuff than in Gran Soren imo, he also has the armor and weapons of Guts and Griffith from Berserk.
I had no intentions of becoming a leader. It is as a warrior how I shall be remembered, but these are hardly numbers worth dying for.

Wonder if I should of kept the gold and silver idol then. But I didnt know the quarry had a shop.
Eventually the merchants will ask for em, and apparently gold idol = best rewards, silver idol = 3/4, and bronze idol = crap. Forgeries apparently give you nothing.
Gold Idol is from escorting some guys daughter around gran, you have to pretty much be her little bitch and not ditch/bump into her to get it. Had to do that one three times before I got it. Lol.
