Sony: Core PSN gamers are more adult

I do agree to a certain extent. I think price of Sony products is a factor. The PS Vita is $250-$300 and the PS3 once was $500-$600. You're not going to find a lot of pre teens or teenagers buying Sony products as much as you would the other products by Nintendo and Microsoft. However, it is a small factor. You've also got gamers who remember the PS1 and PS2 era that are older and more mature now.

Yeah I guess thats hard to escape with any online service. One of the reasons that I dont play that much online mp.

It depends on the game and its community I think. Like when I play Uncharted 3 co-op arena I usually meet cool people that really play as a team.

Ya true, I don't play much online but like you said,uncharted and Bf3 I find mostly adults.

Same. I've noticed quite a bit more mature people on PS3, especially on games like BF3 and etc. as they tend to be more realistic than the CoD games which are easier to play. I've also kind of noticed PS3 users tend to be more tech savvy than other console players.

Kids are easily avoidable on Xbox LIVE so long as you don't play Call of Duty or Halo. The Gears community is douchey, but at least they're older than 12.

I run into kids less on PSN, but that could be because I do single-player on PS3 mostly.

i disagree. alot of teenagers have rich parents. and now days the difference in price with the consoles is negligable.

what makes a difference is the inclusion of a headset with the xbox imo.

most adults that have blutooth headsets do so for driving. so you'll mainly find adults talking on the psn. i don't know any playstation user with a headset who doesn't have a car in my friendship circle. in fact, i don't know many people who use bluetooth headsets without a vehicle. its a very specialised piece of kit (unless you're worried about cancer from phones - in which case you're likely an adult too)

its only really core gamers that give a fuck about communicating in game. most kids dont' that much - so aren't going to go out of their way to buy a headset.

i mean i'm not even that fussed about a headset for the psn, but i'll whack on my xbox live headset every so often because its there.

just watch. next gen, if sony provides a headset out of the box, they'll be just as many kids screaming.
