Well in the last report I heard about in recent memory the 360 had a 4 million lead back up again. So apparently Sony is closing the gap yet again.

Meanwhile, both are catching up with the Wii. I always said but I still think both will eventually pass the Wii LTD. The Wii has been hanging around 90 - 100m for awhile to my knowledge and used to have over 50% of the marketshare.

It won't really matter if they catch the wii or not. They are set to launch again and no matter what you can't take away the marketshare/money they made from it. Either way, what they pulled off this gen was impressive. When they sit down to count the money, Reggie will be smiling more than the other two.

I know it doesn't matter, neither do profits since I don't see a cent of that money. I made a prediction that the Wii wouldn't stay on top forever either before or after next gen starts. Some of us don't take sales so seriously, ultimately we only care about the games.

Profits do matter. Maybe not to us but this is a business first and foremost. Lucky for us we don't have to take sales seriously, butwith out money there would be no games to care about.

I don't know about nintendo IPs because I don't play portables but you can't really expect to believe that a corp would put millions of dollars in R&D of a product and not be concerned if consumers will buy it or not. Sales do matter. When was the last time you heard Sony, MS, or NIN say they don't care how much their products sell? Go ask THQ and others who are in financial trouble if sales matter.

I enjoy following sales and seeing how consoles are doing, but it doesn't affect me directly because ultimately I only care about the games. Sony games don't sell well, yet for more than three years they have had the biggest line up of core exclusives released. So, why should I personally care? Sony are showing 20 games at E3. lol

LOl..its kinda hard to talk about sales without it.... You seemed to have no problem talking about profits earlier in another thread though:

PSV is making massive profits, not worried at all, especially if PS4 launches similar to PSV they'll be raking it in, and that's before we include software.

Now how is this any different? Does that sound like you don't care about profits?

Never was a big deal to me. I bought PS3 first this gen anyway. Next gen it will be vice versa. Gotta share the love.
