Just saw a thread that had a 56k warning in the title and wondered if any members are actually stuck using 56k.
I vote Nay.

I don't, but know people who still do.
PCs are very much like Air Conditioners.
They both become utterly useless once you start to open up Windows....

Oh the nostalgia, thinking about dial-up internet. "Mom! Don't pick up the phone! The connection will go off!"

2 of 100 people may be using dial up. I have no sympathy for those stuck in 1998.

Nope, those were the days, which I won't miss...

Almost a decade for me.
I got broadband 512K around 2004, before that I was paying £15 per month for 150 hours and very often I used them up before the month ended so BT upgraded me for free, everyone else was paying £20+ for what I got and when BT rolled out their 2Mbit service they upgraded me again and I was still paying £15 per month plus it was unlimited yet the £20+ options were limited to 40GB per month or there abouts.[IMG][/IMG]

I would be so pissed off just seeing that connection symbol because using dial up meant that you kinda had a curfew as a kid. I wasn't allowed to go on the net at certain times because my mom had to make business calls and it generally took up the phone lines. I'm so glad I don't have dial up anymore. But still, with the prices we pay for hi-speed here, in Europe, anyone can get T1 speeds or higher with that kinda money.

Oh yeah, those AOL CD's they kept sending you in the mail? They were more useful as coasters to me lol.
