The Hunger Games and The avengers are both good, but The Avengers is the better of the two by far. God Bless America walked a solid line for most of the movie, but it kinda fell apart at the end. Still, I've yet to see a bad movie so far, and I hope the trend continues.

A couple good movies here and there but the meat of this year doesn't even start till next month.. all the way till december.

    Prometheus
    Snow White and the Huntsman
    The Dark Knight Rises
    Looper
    007: Sky Fall
    The Bourne Legacy
    Django Unchained
    The Hobbit

...and most of the independents won't hit till fall or so... Wanted to see Carnage though.

Haven't seen Chronicle or Avengers yet. Probably next week for both.

    Avengers
    Chronicle
    Hunger Games
    The Grey
    Cabin in the Woods

    Worst

    The Raven
Battleship, I didn't even see this and I already think it's shit.
Project X (it was funny and it captured teen spirit, but let's face it, me and you could get a camera, invite some people to our party and hit record..Todd Phillips needs to do some action movies)

    Most anticipated movies for me

    Prometheus
    TDKR
Expendables 2 (sorry Red, but I need a confidence boost, and this movie does that for me LOL)
    Looper
Savages (can't believe no one mentioned this, it's Oliver Stone!)
Gangster Squad (pretty much LA NOIRE)
Killer Joe (Emile Hersch accepting good roles again)
    Bourne Legacy
007 Skyfall (after the sour taste left in my mouth after Quantam of Solace, hopefully this will redeem itself..and Javier Bardem as the villain is certainly a good reason to see it..I really hope they don't underwhelm him in the script)
Django Unchained (huge Tarintino fan here)

    Somewhat less anticipated movies

    Total Recall
    Cosmopolis

I really enjoyed Hunger Games and Chronicle, thought they were decent films.

Avengers has been the best so far this year. I'm trying to think of the other films I've seen so far this year, there was star wars 3D which was good (i enjoyed it anyway, i've always loved the pod racing in that film, and darth maul is bad ass).

hardly been to the cinema this year :/

I'm really looking forward to The Dark Knight Rises that will be my favourite film of the year no doubt! Prometheus looks amazing and I'm looking forward to 007 Skyfall. Others would be Snow White & the Hunstman, Looper and Expendables 2 off the top of my head

I need to sit down and get the patience to watch Chronicle again, I stopped it because everything was through the damn camcorder perspective, which got on my nerves. Just like with Cloverfield, I can't beleive the dude takes it everywhere and never put it down.

Haha your clearly not a person who video tapes things. Took a trip to NYC with a class, and my professor commented on how I never stopped taping. For the movie, if he wants it documented for records I'd believe it.

RedDragon7, did a giant monster attack you while you were in NYC? I'm pretty sure most people would drop the camera. If you faced a monster and didn't drop the camera and run, I would say your huge balls would have been more of a problem.

I enjoyed CLOVERFIELD but the fact that he never dropped the camera did actually bother me. I love all of the little subliminal images in the film though. Freaking brilliant.

Well considering the fact that it's based on an 80s TV series (very loosely, I discovered upon watching it), I wasn't expecting it to be good either. Luckily it really embraced that fact, and really, wasn't reliant on the TV series at all. It's the same as the show in name only, and I think that's what threw people for a loop.
