We have the review going live in the next 30 minutes or so, but just wanted to say that I've been blown away. This is my favourite Rockstar game to date and Max Payne is one of my favourite videogame characters. This is a master class in story-telling.
If you like shooters, you got to see this!

I will be interested to see more reviews. GTTV gave it 7.5, but of course that only means anything in the context of many more.

Here's our review...http://www.psu.com/Max-Payne-3-Review--a015346-p0.php
Timberflake, yeah it's a totally new story. If you want to know why Max is so f**ked up it tells you in the manual. That's all you really need to know.

Watched some streams of it on Twitch and have decided for it to drop alot in price before i buy it, i enjoyed the controls of the old games on PC and itll most likely drop quick for this system. The game itself seems fun but i dont think theres any replay value in these games alot tbh and with 8-10 hours id rather wait for a price i wont regret it. Im kinda dissapointed that it ended up being so much different than in style/visuals as i feared though. The unique atmosphere from the old games doesnt seem to be there at all.
After burning my hands on GTA collection for PS3 im not gonna buy another rockstar game on a console most likely unless im forced like RDR. The blur effect and draw distance visuals of GTA 4 was the worst experience ive had with a GTA game, the game itself felt like i was moving from a box to box because of the poor visuals which killed the city for me

Just because it won GOTY doesn't mean it's good to me. GOTY is a joke. I can say a lot about why I think it's terrible, but I don't think this thread is about that.
I'm just saying that I will proceed with caution when it comes to Rockstar games because I'm more often than not belonging to the group who don't find their games all that good.

MP3 looks great, only thing holding me back is.. if I would of preordered I would of got GTA4 episodes ($30) for free. So I'll wait till its $39.99, since i'm so cheap

GTA4: For me, that was the best GTA.
LA Noire: Not a bad game, but it wasnt great
RDR: Rockstars best game, loved that story.

Let me put it this way, people were hyped and already singing its praises when LA Noire was nothing but a black screen with a "published by Rockstar" accompanying it.
A lot of Rockstar's praise is pure hype, and the fact that it's taboo to actually criticize a Rockstar game or its reputation, almost like Nintendo.
*edit: let's not forget RDR was highly praised for its horse muscle animation. When you're getting to that point, you know you're grasping at straws.Last edited by rbrtchng; 05-18-2012 at 05:55.

That's good to hear. I pretty much forgot about MP3 until now, so it's great to know the game is good. But it's still 2 weeks away on PC

Max Payne has the best story and character development. I was genuinely concerned for the character. It was important that he find justice and it was a plus that he did it in the coolest way possible. I don't know how they can improve for the last installment, but it should be interesting to watch them try.
