9 Qualities of Remarkable Entrepreneurs (short but excellent Inc.com article)

Thought I post this up, especially for the younger members who are just getting their feet wet in business, or who have aspirations of some kind of entrepreneurial future

What separates the best from everyone else? (Hint: It's not about the money.)

Good entrepreneurs make money. Great entrepreneurs make serious money.

But remarkable entrepreneurs do more than make money. They are the few who possess qualities that don't appear on balance sheets but do make a significant impact on the lives of their employees, industries, and communities.

Here are nine qualities of remarkable entrepreneurs:

Enterprising has been on my mind a lot lately, if I'm honest. So I'll give this a read a little later tonight, cheers

Outstanding article. I find I am strong in some areas but weak in others, there's always something to work on, ways to better yourself.

I found the mention of skydiving to be interesting. I had a discussion with an entrepreneur I know, he isn't a risk taker and hasn't evolved much as he has aged. He saw no point in doing something that involved that amount of risk while I was interested in trying it at least once, I did the advanced free fall and jumped by myself, it was pretty cool. If you aren't willing to try new things it will show up in your business practices and you will likely end up a dinosaur in the long run.

Once again, great article, thanks for sharing.

    Thanks for sharing DT.

The 5th thing on that list is something I do all the time. It doesn't matter if I do something to someone else' liking if it doesn't meet my personal standards it's not good enough. That's a great list to follow, I think I have most of those qualities. This list seems like common sense but a lot of people are consumed by greed.

Focus. Control. Conviction. Resolve. A true ace lacks none of these attributes. Nothing can deter you from the task at hand except your own fears. This is your sky.

Excellent, it’s an extremely short read, enjoy.

According to DreDayDetox, you need to design and build a highly advanced suit of armor

Glad you enjoyed it, kind of hoped you’d see it and chime in

Definitely. My own expectations of my performance generally exceed others, so I execute based on my [sometimes too lofty] personal standards. I think there’s even more to it: your goals should be independent targets, unique, discreet, pie-in-the-sky. Too many people measure performance in terms of others, and define things into a “win vs. lose” model, I think that tethers you too much.

Yeah, they do read a little like “no $#@!”, but it’s surprising the people that don’t follow these tenants in business. I’m currently engaged in a 3rd enterprise (with some very lofty goals), and I’d say the core team all have many of these attributes in heavy doses! And where there’s a deficiency, we’ve got enough diversity to cover the gaps (they’re also all long time friends and colleagues, so we immediately had synchronous business mojo ).

Please read again, I said TONY STARK not IRON MAN. Two completely different personalities. He is an entrepreneur if you've actually watched the movies. And he did better the world.
