KickBeat announced for Vita...

KickBeat, a "music combat game" from Zen Studios, launches on Vita this Summer.
You'll be matching beats to pull off various martial art moves in time with the music. They'll be no on-screen prompts as in other music games - you'll be free to create your own sequence of attacks.

The soundtrack is made up of licensed tunes from the likes of Pendulum and Marilyn Manson, alongside lesser known acts such as Taiwanese rapper Shen Yi. You'll also be able to import your own music into the game and use the built-in analyser to create your own tracks.

"Kickbeat is a showcase example of passion, risk and creativity," commented Zen Studios chief Zsolt Kigyossy.

"Traditional publishers might shy away from this type of thinking, but we will embrace it. After all, what's the point of working in video games if you just keep making the same one?"

It's not yet clear whether the game will be download-only or see a full retail release.

Zen's past work includes Zen Pinball on PlayStation 3 and Pinball FX on Xbox 360.
