Fucking awesome movie! I was literally sweating my ass off during some scenes!

However, can anyone explain to me what the beginning (aka the plane sequence) was all about? What did the blood transfusion do? And why was Bane one of the captives anyway? Who were the people in the plane?

It was to fake the death of the scientist, but also to assume no foul play. According to Bane, Pavel rejected his deal and made a deal with the CIA. The plane was supposed to only have CIA officers, Pavel, and one prisoner, but the others were added at the last second, and therefore not on the flight plan. Bane arranged to be captured. The transfusion was so that the substitute body could be matched to the scientist. And Bane's guy stayed behind because the flightplan required one prisoner, to avoid suspicion.

Finally got around to seeing it. I was MIND BLOWING!!

Had goosebumps all movie long and I even started crying when he died and then when he came back, my friends started laughing at me lol.

Anne Hathaway has done some amazing acting here.

Few things that came into my head earlier today:

So, at the end when the engineer tells Fox that the autopilot had been fixed/last used 6 months ago by Bruce Wayne - does it mean he fixed the autopilots in all of The Bats? Obviously the one he was using, that carried the bomb out of Gotham got blown to pieces, so it seems weird how the engineer can track that Bruce had used the autopilot on the blown up Bat via an unused Bat.

Also, Bane set about stealing all of the resources that are available to Batman....except The Bat(s)? You'd think they'd be in the same hold as the tumbler's, and if not, Bane had seen The Bat earlier in the film so why couldn't he or his army get their hands on them during the course of those few months where Batman was recovering in prison?

I believe there was only one 'Bat', the location of which was unknown to Bane as it was parked on that random rooftop.

We could get a poll up as well. Like, How do you think the trilogy will end?

1. Batman and Bruce Wayne die
2. Batman dies, Wayne lives
3. Both live and trilogy ends
4. Bruce Wayne discloses his identity
5. Both live and Nolan makes another awesome movie (Yes, I know he's said that it's his last but I can dream right?)

I love the last option gansta.

I think it will be option 2. There would be a massive fan outcry if Nolan killed batman, when he is still kicking in the comics.

I want #1 happening just because it would be such a huge surprise. How many times has the superhero died at the end of a movie. I have a feeling it'll be #3 tho. The trilogy will end with Batman still kicking butt.

I think it'll be #1 or #2 and Nolan won't direct newer Batman movies, but he is slated as being the producer on the next reboot, and there will be a reboot. As long as it doesn't intro Batman again, cause we have that. Apparently Darren Arfonsky might direct. I was kinda hoping David Fincher would do it since he would make an epic Batman, possibly r-rated too!

Lol true but i can still see it. It would be a horrible ending but end things in a way where it shows that Batman will always protect Gotham or something corny like that.

let it end in a way where Batman has to sacrifice himself to protect Gotham. Probably piss off a lot of people.

This post contains some spoilers to the story. Since the film's been out for a while I'm not going to stick spoiler tags on it.

I finally got round to watching it in the IMAX today, and I appreciate the film even more.

The actual IMAX scenes are beautifully awesome, and the picture quality alone was so much better than the standard scenes. I only wish they could do a whole film with IMAX cameras, although I believe they are extremely heavy, noisy and can only hold about two hours worth of footage at one time.
The sound of the music and the machines were great as my seat was vibrating, and I haven't felt that from a film since seeing 'Batman Begins' when the Tumbler revved up - that was amazing!

But to speak of the film: I got a very good gist of it when I first saw it, but now I had the chance to really listen to the details and pick up on everything, and everything is now clearer to me. I thoroughly enjoyed watching it, and I feel that my first impressions of the film as a whole have risen (no pun intended).
I've realized that the only real contribution that Anne Hathaway's character brought to the story was her stealing Bruce Wayne's fingerprints, and other than, she didn't really bring anything else to it. I still concede that I thought she looked f*cking gorgeous and sexy when she was normal Selina Kyle, with her hair straight... Phwoar!
Michael Caine's acting was brilliant, especially when he told Bruce that he burnt the letter from Rachel. He seemed like he was emotionally stumbling on his words, which made the whole scene seem all that more realistic and believable!

In conclusion, I feel that if you haven't seen it, or just want to see it again, and you have the chance and opportunity to see it in the IMAX then go for it! Honestly, it's brilliant!

Seen it twice so far. First time on film, second time digital. Next time I go it'll def be IMAX.
