I'm sure it'll be great but i honestly think it won't top The Dark Knight. The movie is just too Damn good. To me the quality is excellent and will be very tough for them to even reach that level again.
Edit: When it comes to sales, i can see it going as well as TDK. A lot of people that saw it would probably want to watch The Dark Knight Rises. They shouldn't have any sales issues

TDK can be topped. It's not the end all be all. I just hope Hardy pulls some incredible-ness. Heath/Joker can't be topped.

New IMAX poster...
"When I was 12, I milked my eel into a pot of turtle stew. I flogged the one-eyed snake, I skinned my sausage. I made the bald man cry into the turtle stew, which I believe my sister ate. At least I hope she did."

I honestly think it looks weak.
They're really just recycling the same shot of Batman from previous images. The upper-half looks nice, sure, but when you look at the rest of the movie poster, Batman just feels out of place (regardless of the color correction). I'm not really sure what he's supposed to be standing on either.Steam & PlayStation Network: BlacksitePSU | 3DS Friend Code: 1349-4916-2054

Today was the insider screening for the movie, and initial outlook for the movie seems amazing. Critics have mentioned that this movie beats TDK by a mile, with the last 15 minutes being just pure ecstasy!
On that note people, please watch out for spoilers! The floodgates have been opened, so there's nothing stopping the Spoiler Brigade now!

Some of the early one-line reviews:
"The Dark Knight Rises" hits theaters on July 20th and Warner Bros held the first press screening, which resulted in a standing ovation. Even though we have yet to get any full reviews, the initial reactions have been overwhelmingly positive.
We have now collected some of those reactions for you below. Since there are plenty of spoilers, we cut those out and just left the overall opinions. It seems that almost everyone agrees that this is not only the best installment in Christopher Nolan's franchise, but may also be an Oscar contender.
Here are the reviews:
* Wow. Quite speechless at the moment...."TDKR" was everything I wanted it to be.
* So much awesome... can't wait to see it again. And again. And 9 out of 10 for me. I'd put "Amazing Spider-Man" at a 7.5 and "Avengers" at an 8.5.
* This film was the perfect final chapter in the trilogy.
* I think Bale gives his best performance as Batman and as Bruce Wayne in this one.
* Nolan manages to convey this wild ride into 165 minutes of his best work.
* "The Dark Knight Rises" is not only easily the best Batman movie yet, but now one of my favorite movies I've ever seen. It was unbelievable!
* If this does not break the mold and win Best Picture, no comic book movie ever will.

Woah...the last quote...waoh..
Also, the IMAX poster seem like it carries some religious undertones. My freind compared it to the story of Paradise Lost, where Lucifer loses all his powers in Heaven and gets banished to hell.

New featurette, not really spoilerish:
Fuck me, man. Fuck me sideways. This is gonna be just pure ecstasy.
I hate the fact that all Middle Eastern countries get to show this movie only on August 16. Shiiiit, I just hope I can wait that long, without spoiling myself.

I recently started a dream journal because I want to experience the art of lucid dreaming. Lately, my dreams have consisted of this movie. I'm not kidding. Every 2 nights or so, TDKR is in my dreams. Just last night I was dreaming about scenes from the trailer, I felt like I was just a few feet away from Batman fighting Bane. Then the dream shifted to Bane as a kid. It was horrible, he was tortured in a cruel way and he had to breath some green gas through that mask, and that's how he became Bane. Another dream was seeing the Tumbler go down a straight, but steep highway and the whole sky was blood red, as if some apocalyptic event is occurring. I don't know why I'm getting these dreams, it's not like I'm obsessing over the film, but I feel somehow connected to it. All the hype, the reactions and this featurette video feels so goddamn surreal to me. I have a feeling this film will literally rock not only comic book movie adaptations but film-making in its entirety. Again, because of my dreams.

I think you just...REALLY want to see this movie. lol
But after hearing impressions from pre-screenings, I am confident this will be a sweet finisher to an amazing trilogy and may equal or surpass TDK.
Not only does it look weak, but it looks like the sequel to the other weak advertisement you posted.
I honestly don't know what he's standing on, myself. lol
I knew this one was going to be longer-than-average, but man...I did not expect a runtime of nearly 3 hours (2 hours, 45 minutes).

They need to just stop making posters for this movie, not helping whatsoever.

Funny, I saw another ad like the two we just mentioned during a commercial on TV. They showed the Batman trailer...then plastered the advertisement on the screen afterwards with a cut-out of batman on some arbitrary red industrial background.
I think the marketing team have done a last-minute run of ads and that's what we have been seeing.

For those going to the midnight show to see it in IMAX, check this awesomeness out!!

You get this LIMITED EDITION poster. Grab a bunch, keep a few, sell the rest on ebay or craigslist for insane amounts of money. I know I will!!
oh and for participating IMAX theaters that are giving these out:

All your states are there, see which one you're going to.
