As we approach the two year anniversary of PlayStation Plus, rumours are starting to surface that something big is coming to the premium subscription-based service that has seen those that pay out the modest fee receive advance buying options, lots of free games and some technical advantages, like automatic downloads.
However, we’re hearing on the grapevine that there’s more to follow, and whilst we can’t advise everyone to rush and shell out for an annual sub just yet, we reckon something’s happening that might well tempt those that are yet to dip their toes into the Plussy waters.
What is it? We don’t know – honestly. We’ve tried probing our usual contacts but nobody’s telling us anything, other that what we’ve gleaned from a few SCEE Twitter accounts (which we’ll not make a big deal of) and a couple of willing but tight-lipped folk around the industry.
So, whilst there’s nothing concrete, the messages we’re getting suggest it’s going to be something of an innovation and improvement as opposed to anything like a specific game or freebie, although that could happen too. It’s coming up to E3, could it be related to the events and titles on the show floor? There’s some talk that this could be linked.
We’ll see, but in the meantime feel free to speculative wildly – if you will – in the comments below.

I wish they would just scrap it, I think it is ridiculous that they withold console features from regular members.
Trophy-licious!

I have had Plus for over 2 years now and I am very happy with it, so many good free games, discounts and cloud based game saves are imo very worth it!!

@Dave-The-Rave I agree with you but I think it's a financial problem to give everything plus gives for free to everyone. I think the cloud game saves should be available to everyone though since we never know when our ps3's might breakdown and wouldn't want to lose all our saves on our games.

Well, innovation and development does cost money. Supporting a free gaming service is not cheap either. Those who subscribe to the premium services are are driving development, innovation, and keeping the service free and open-minded.

Great update today in PS+. Bunch of free games. I got Just Cause 2 again (traded it in, but didn't get all the Trophies, so I downloaded it today from PS+), Little Big Planet 2, Warhammer 40,000, and Saints Row 2.
Good deal. Good deal indeed. The Last Of Us | Dust 514 | 3EYOND

The beauty is.. I don't own LBP2, InFamous 2, Warhammer or any of the games they are giving for free. I love Sony.
Downloading the following out of what they offered:
LBP2
MotorStorm Apocalypse
InFamous 2
Warhammer
I'll download the others just for the sake of having them if I ever want them in the future.Last edited by emmerich; 06-07-2012 at 00:09.
