Loved the penalty kick from Pirlo.
"When I was 12, I milked my eel into a pot of turtle stew. I flogged the one-eyed snake, I skinned my sausage. I made the bald man cry into the turtle stew, which I believe my sister ate. At least I hope she did."

What a bitch.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...niversary.htmlFly out for the Euro 2012 quarter-finals or stay at home to celebrate your anniversary with your partner.
This was the difficult decision that one man known only as Chris had to make. And if this banner, slung over a busy duel carriageway in Birmingham, is anything to go by Chris didn't choose very wisely.

You know what, I'm still for England, even with their loss. So come next World Cup, next Euro Cup..I'll still be cheering for them. All I wanted from this tournament was to see England face Germany. World Cup 2010 left me with a scar.

What are your bets, people? Spain vs. Portugal and Germany vs. Italy? I say Germany and Spain will advance. Wouldn't mind a Germany-Portugal finals too, if Spain goes out.

The Pirlo pen was beyond class. Amazing! Obviously wanted England to win but the better team went through. Justice in a way. So meh. Shearer hit the nail on the head - we went out in the stage that represents us best - we're only 5th 6th 7th best team in the world. We're not up there with the likes of Spain, Germany and Italy.
Italy have surprised me though. I didn't give them a chance going into this tournament but they've looked pretty damn good. The scary thing is they didn't even have to use Di Natale yesterday! ( I rate that guy highly )

My prediction is that it will be Germany v Spain in the final, with Germany winning.

Nasri only apologized after he was threatned with suspension.. typical. He seems to be the main reason for the rift in the lockerroom.
http://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/comme..._years/c55q0fq
After the loss against Spain he went through the interview zone (you know, that long corridor between the cloakrooms and the bus that players have to take and can choose whether or not to respond to the hordes of journalists here - players often just pass through it without even a look to them, it's very common).
Anyway, they ask him "can you give us your impressions and your feelings after this loss" and the likes.
He answers "No, because you always write shit about me".
A journalist from AFP (Agence France Presse) tells him to not generalize (the press haven't even been very vocal about Nasri in particular, I'm French and live in France, trust me on this). The journalists keep -gently- asking him to answer a few quick questions and he still refuses.
Then that same AFP guy tells him: "fine then, get out!" (casse-toi).
Nasri comes back, tells him: "va te faire enculer, va niquer ta mère, sale fils de pute. Voilà, maintenant tu pourras dire que je suis mal élevé." (Fuck you, fuck your mom, you son of a bitch. Now, you can tell that I'm ill-mannered).
That's it.
After his goal against England, he shouted "FERME TA GUEULE" (Shut the fuck up) to the cameras when celebrating his goal. He later said this was directed to l'Equipe, the most famous French sports newspaper, because they gave him bad grades after his -bad- games in the pre-tournament friendlies.
The first fucking thing he thought of after scoring an extremely important goal for his country in an official tournament was to settle a score with a journalist.
Trusted French sources (with contacts from within the squad/staff) report that half the cloakroom don't like him because he behaves like a spoiled brat (and this started as early as 2008 when he "stole" Thierry Henry's seat on the bus - it sounds stupid but well, that was the beginning of all...)
